Just got my first Vibergs and they are great (having lurked on here for weeks working out my sizing - thanks for the help!). Size 9 Derby fit nicely. Got these second hand and the seller wasn't sure on the last - I think 1035 but perhaps 2030. Can anyone advise on which one, and also any tips on rubbing from the high heel area (I'm guessing this will soften up with wear but you guys probably have some secret oil or something). Also ignore the dark spots, just some water.

My guess is 1035.

Nope they are on the 2045 last. Corded soles are bullet proof too!

How do you feel about the way these will age? The samples they did a while ago in a different leather didn't turn out that great IMO. They kind of have that reverse shell color.

@zunker, derbies are definitely 1035. I had the same question last year when I bought my first derbies on the 1035.

I like it. I haven't tried that one yet.

Sort of an "average" between the 1035 and the 110?

Are you looking for specifically black oil tan and not another leather? Black oil tan hasn't really been used much recently outside of the current style forum GTMOs. The link is on the previous page, but those makeups are smoothout instead of roughout.

I have black waxed flesh, looking for something really dark black, not too specific on the leather type or tannage.

Sounds like you aren't looking for a pull up leather like cxl is you want something super dark. Black oil tan is dyed through, not like cxl or waxed flesh. The only black oil tan released somewhat recently (within past year or so) are the 3sixteen and Mr Porter, but with stacked mini ripple sole and moreflex sole. Outside of the current SF GTMOs, there's Viberg's workboot.com. If you like the 110 last the GTMO is your best bet. Hope this helps.
