Thoughts on light-colored jeans?

All my (blue) jeans are of the dark variety. I find that they look better, and are more versatile. Further, most style sites seem to recommend dark denim. I noticed a bit with summer lines, but now that fall lines are out, most retailers seem to be pushing lighter denim. What are your thoughts on this? Is light denim back in, or are they just trying to make us buy more jeans. Should I add a light pair to my wardrobe, or stick to what I like?

I also like dark denim, but bought a pair of 3sixteen natural Pima cotton denim that I love, as they don't look like jeans!!

Not very practical, but would definitely recommend natural denim!

Also bought a stone bleach blue pair - I like these a lot too...

I've seen a gorgeous light grey denim pair- toss up between that and black jeans!
