Like they let plebs like us into the sky clubs.

Who the hell still flies Delta?
Why would anyone willingly choose to fly with an airline whose only decent partner is on strike half the time?

Don't you just have to have a midlevel AmEx card? That's gotten us into airport lounges all over the place.

Not the fancy ones unless AmEx is different. I know the platinum card has good lounge access.

My last few flights have been on Delta, American, and United. I couldn't tell you the difference honestly. Plus, you're really dictated by what brand hub you live near. Fortunately for me, RDU isn't a hub for anyone, so there are always layovers.

Oh 100%, all 3 suck. But w/ American you can pool w/ Alaska and use miles and status for JAL, Cathay, Qantas, Qatar, Iberia, and BA.

United you get Lufthansa, Swiss, ANA, Singapore, and EVA.

Delta gets you.... Air France? And status is impossible now? Hard pass.

Although good point, **** American and its expiring points program. I flew January 2020 with them via Cathay to get enough miles to be just shy of platinum status. All those miles disappeared because I didn't use them during the first two years of COVID for obvious reasons. First time having status too and never got to use it.

All you have to do to keep American miles active is earn 1 point every 24 months. You could literally have gone onto eshopping and ordered a 10 dollar...whatever...and kept those points active. This is a good tip for keeping stuff like kid's American miles active as well.

With American's move to LP's, it actually pretty hard to get status just by flying compared to the other legacy carriers. You pretty much have to play their game. But their game is pretty easy if you earn/make a lot and/or have access to some corporate spend.

I'm currently United Gold but I defected last October and made it to American Executive Plat in 3.5 months.

I fractured a vertebra in an ice skating accident. We've been ice skating on outdoor wild ice since the 1960's, and we're in our 60's and 70's. Way too many falls and injuries in our group in the last few years. Now it's me. The concussion was mild; I was wearing a helmet.

I'm hanging up my skates for the season, and I'll have to consider a more permanent retirement from my favorite outdoor sport. Hanging up my trumpet until summer, too, is even more hibbledy. I'm in a hard neck brace for who knows how long. Maybe I'm too old for this shіt.

I quit skiing this year after 40 years . I made it to to 78 and a 9 hour emergency lumbar surgery pretty much put a cap on it for me. I'm coming back pretty fast and hope you do too.

I hate getting old. Last year I tried to get back into running. Over the course of several months I gradually progressed from walking the whole 6-7 mile route to interspersing sprints with walking, and it got to where an entire run loomed feasibly in the distance. But after each session climbing up the stairs was painful and difficult. Long story short: arthritis in both hips. Running days are over. I hate getting old.
