I know, it means I have no taste. I don't particularly care.

Here in higher-ed biz-cas has really just degraded into casual. I see everything on a daily basis. Khakis and a button down puts you in a pretty high class of dress 'round here. But it's mostly dad-jeans and polos.

OK, the worst look has officially gotten worse. Now I'm seeing guys were wool suit pants with knit cotton polos. Just go home and start over.

Footwear ranges from tennis shoes to black full brogues.

Personally, while I found the "business casual" look to be hideous, I find it far more distressing when I see men, used to their depressing polos, ill-fitting khakis, and ubiquitous square toed kenneth coles and eccos, actually don a suit.

A picture I found, a textbook example of why. This happened to be on this poor chap's online dating profile, so I assume he thinks he looks sharp.

I work with a few older guys who are REALLY into the deep-pleat, worsted, mid-grey pants with a fitted, almost mock-turtleneck, solid (usually black or cream) t-shirt look. The shirt usually has some sheen or texture to it. It's worth noting that at least two of these guys often talk about shoes, watches and sport coats...

The button stance on his coat seems quite "off," but if he got his trouser legs shortened to a proper length, the whole outfit wouldn't be too egregious, at least compared to much of what I see.

I mean, it appears to be about four sizes too big...

Atlanta. So a bit shy of the Heartland as I think of it. The guys crack me up though. I had an entire conversation with them about cordovan shoes last week. The next day they are wearing tucked in t-shirts and woven loafers. Come to think of it, they're probably lurkers on here...

Guy I used to work with wore *triple* pleated suit pants with a golfing shirt just about every day. Paired with black tennis shoes. He claimed that because the shoes were black, they looked "basically" the same as real shoes.
