Lol wow thx!

i was inviting preferences. Ive noticed proponents for both here and would be interested in hearing the whys.

I've also heard some people say they prefer the no-date Sub, because the prefer the "Cleaner look" of no date and symmetry of having hour markers at the 3 and the 9 position (rather than a window for a date). I don't mind the date or a cyclops, but I can also appreciate why some people preferring not to have a date on a Sub.

Those are the reasons I first fell in love with the Sub. It was my first Sub, but I did end up going with the date model for a couple references. I've since come back to the "no date" and I'll never go back. It's just so clean and pretty.

Probably because you've never seen a green dial without the cyclops! haha

Full disclosure: I actually prefer the Sub date because I like having a date complication on my watch. I find that it comes in handy and I enjoy having the added convenience. With that being said, and slightly cheekily, I was just pointing out that the "Sub" as it were, has no date. The original watch, the icon, the Bond watch, the Sub... No date. now, with that being said, I believe I read somewhere or heard from someone that the Sub date actually out sells the sub by some margin, but I have no facts to back that up. At some point, I will probably get a SUb date, though given my recent setback, that point is likely to be a reasonable distance in the future, but I digress.

Also, greeting from Prague everyone. If you have must see watch related places for me to hit here, please let me know. THanks!

Case is a bit thick dont you think? For a one watch, that is...

Not at all. I find it to be the perfect one watch, having worn it most days since last October.

No date watches are best!

One day, I hope my future wife looks at me the same way Wraithy looks at his BB36. That's when I'll know I have true love

I also prefer the clean, symmetrical look of the Sub. There's something magical about the balance on that dial. And of course, it is THE sub, which earns it tons of bonus points amongst of watch forum weirdos.

Yes, Dino. I have also heard that the Sub Date outsells the Sub by quite a margin. Makes sense. People who aren't watch people and want a Rolex want the cyclops. Otherwise not everyone will know they are wearing a Rolex. And I guess they could also want the convenience of the date. Haha

THE onewatch

I've been wearing some version or the other of the Sub as my only watch for over 10 years.

On an unrelated note, my fiancée's grandfather passed away and left behind a vintage non-working Patek. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to handle the watch, otherwise I would have snapped some picks.

Her uncle who inherited the watch made some comments about his trouble getting it serviced, saying they couldn't source parts. It's likely a 60's, possibly 70's dress model. Don't know anything else about it. Does anyone have any recommendations for someone I/he can contact?

You never truly own a Patek Philippe, you just look after until repair parts disappear
