Surprisingly dull. Really not much to get excited about here imo
it's challenging when they're introducing some stuff that feel like they should just be staples, i.e. black denim or black suede loafers. but I wish they had thought to introduce a subtle pattern elsewhere to make the collection something truly special

the black mack certainly looks nice and well-made but it's hardly groundbreaking. a subtle black-on-grey or even black-on-charcoal PoW or some other slight pattern could've added at least a bit of visual interest and uniqueness, while staying within Levine's whole vibe. and maybe the Games could've been in a different material or had some additional detail. I hate to s*** on it before it's even released, but it just feels a tad like he phoned it in, which is disappointing. as a collection it's also... not that fun? which surprises me

it's all a stark contrast to the St. John's collabs which feel like they had more effort and joy put in. though the cynical part of me wonders whether Levine has reserved his stronger ideas for his own label which he's been putting together simultaneously

I guess they kind of backed themselves into a corner when they chose this uninspired "Airport theme" - I don't get the jet-set vibes that Aaron Levine apparently wanted to invoke, just the dreadful dull feeling one has in airports these days.
At least they are consistent with the dialed down colour palette, it seems fitting to that environment.

That is probably why the St. Johns collab feels and looks better. They are doing great things in a amiable environment. Eating and drinking wine with friends will resonate with a lot more people than how you dress for your weekly air commute.

Just ordered a Drake's MKVII Brown Gun Check Tweed Blazer.

Weight is 430 grams. Thick and hard-wearing.

I like the feeling of it and the slouchy look. Completely unstructured, only lined in the sleeves.

Underneath is a Drake's Rugby shirt. No problem when it comes to mobility even though I have layered with a quite thick shirt underneath.

This is size 54 and thus consistent with my sizing in chores jackets.

What do you think about the fit?

While this is a collection that is very different from drake's proper, it would be interesting to see what portion of the drake's audience was waiting for staples but in tonal black and blue.

I'm not 100% sure I understand this collaboration. I guess to me, Drake's does a brighter color palette with an element of 'fun' really well. Also a little surprised that of all the items, the black jeans seem to be one of the most popular / almost sold out
