Two things...
I ended up spending a little more to switch to Alitalia, and I upgraded to bidness on the way home. Still was a great deal.
But that stupid cheap fare was available.
I'm sometimes willing to suffer a little on the flights, and have more coke money on the trip.
Non-stop is a must though.
I'm more sympathetic to this than I used to be, as Delta is currently c. $9K from ATL to Europe up front. I actually ran into Ed Bastian at the Four Seasons the other day (he has a condo there) and it required some self control not to punch him in the face.

Lol...bastardbastian

I will always stay in a nice place wherever I'm going, so I don't skimp there.

I don't have little kids, I'm thin, and I'm pretty good about sleeping through most flights, so I don't like spending a fortune to be pampered on the plane.
I do always pay whatever it takes to book my seat selection, and always go aisle.

I went to bed last night thinking eh, maybe something magical will happen.

I try to not dwell on things I can’t change, but, up this country’s asss with a red hot poker.
After Vietnam it took me a lotta' years and a lotta' drugs (actually I didn't mind the drugs so much) to get over being pissed at this country. Not just for what they required of me but what they required I do to those people. Now I have get over it without either. C'est la fvckin' vie.

I sat in my hotel binge watching Zoe Saldana shoot sh1t and saunter around nude. Much more compelling [and hopeful] than the news.

I didn't look until this morning. I had basically tuned out of any discussions about the national election in the run-up because I knew it would just stress me out and there was literally nothing I could do from here. It sucks just as much as 2016, worse really, but unlike then I wasn't going in with any particular hope.

I kept asking anyone who was calling for Biden to withdraw, "Who can replace him?" The ones who had bothered to think about it frequently said Harris. I expressed my strong doubts that this country was ready for a black woman to be president. Sadly, my intuition was correct.

I used to have my iPad playing YouTube with political commentary but I stopped doing that about 2-3 months ago. It was also stressing me out. I instead started playing car videos of new 911, new AM Vanquish, etc. Some of the Toyota, Honda, Stellantis guys started getting too political because of electric vehicles and what not so started ignoring those channels. One guy was even like “I’d gladly pay an extra 50 cents per gallon of gas if it meant no more emissions standards”. I blocked his channel from my feed

I’ve been fairly radio silent today with people I know that lean that way because my anger right now has a trigger finger.

I want to try and not come out and just say…

You’re dumb

A racist

A religious whacko

A person with money whose sole purpose is to never pay one dollar in taxes.

Or some combo thereof.

At this point it won’t accomplish anything.

These peabrains don't understand that the incredible performance of modern cars is largely due to the technological innovations driven by emissions standards. I'm so tired of stupid people.

Oh, yeah? Name one good thing that came from unleaded gas. You can't, can you? That proves all environmental restrictions on cars are government overreach! FREEEEEEEDOOOOOOOMMMMMM!!!!

For the most part, I could probably see one AM Vanquish a year and that would be a lot of them but just within the last few weeks I've seen like 4 or 5 of them, which seems to be a lot, relatively speaking.

I was out on a walk one afternoon last week and somebody was backing out of their driveway in the new Vanquish and sort of blocked the sidewalk in front of me while he waited for traffic. As I passed around the front of the car it looked really low, like more so than a lot of other high end sports cars appear. It was a pretty sweet looking car.

And just now I looked up the specs on the new Vanquish and I see that delivery of them just began in the last month or so. Maybe that explains why I've seen more than normal all of a sudden: folks just took delivery and want to enjoy their shiny new toy while the weather is nice before it gets put away for the next 6 months.

It's one of the last V12's being produced. The only other I can think of is the pretentious Ferrari Dodici Cilindri which really looks like sh1t compared to the Vanquish.

I just saw a Bentley the other day with a little tiny "W12" badge on the back or side and was going to say that the VAG must still be making a 12-cylinder engine but just now looked that up and saw they stopped production of those a few months ago.

on Tuesday night, I drove over to the liquor store to get some beer (you know why), after the snow started flying.

I went in and got two of my favorites.

Going out to my car, I checked the parking lot and didn’t see anyone. I got into my car, and started the engine and turned the lights on.

I pushed the brake pedal down and then shifted to reverse. I checked all directions, including the rear view camera. Seeing no one, I started backing out. A moment later, someone was banging on the side of the car.

I still could barely see the guy. He walked behind my car towards the store. I apologized and told him I couldn’t see him.

Just a note to be extra paranoid, especially at night. This dude was wearing black shorts and a red shirt (who can tell me what color red anppears under sodium vapor street light?).

Dude was basically wearing all black and crossing a darkened parking lot in the snow, attempting to pass right behind a car that was obviously backing out of a parking space.

But sure, I’m the problem.

If this isn’t the perfect analogy for Trump voters…
