I'm actually into the new collab. I like the idea of dipping Ivy and British elegance in black.

I really like what they're trying to do here, but for me it's a bit of a miss. First, the black loafers are excellent (Alden really is missing an opportunity not offering their LHS in black suede), the black scarf is really different in a very cool way, and I even like the black fleece.

That said, the collection feels like it's missing something. As a die-hard Californian, I love the idea of like a west coast ivy look-kind of a mashup of Die Workwear's Sunshine and California Noir with Ivy style interpreted by Drakes. But, something feels incomplete here. Buck Mason is another brand trying to mesh California style with Ivy, and while their palette is not quite for me, I think they're doing a good job so far. Would love to see Drakes do more in this vein, but I do feel like this is not quite there yet.

I do like a lot of the individual pieces, but my feeling is, do I really need Drake’s version of a charcoal fleece or charcoal wool Mack, especially at this premium? Usually there’s some unexpected or truly unique element in the design or material or color choice that separates it from other versions of the same thing. Maybe it’s just me but I’m largely failing to see that here

The "Little Nicky" lol.

Thanks! My size is sold out unfortunately, but I can keep an eye out for restock. I have seen a makeup from years ago, maybe for the late Unionmade, that had contrasting antique edges and looked fabulous.

Question on Drake’s chinos. Bought my first pair from Drake’s. Would you expect them to loosen up a little over time? The waist, thigh, hem are perfect but the hip could be touch wider. So wondering whether that naturally stretches a touch over time?

Ordered:
- Tobacco Cotton Flat Front Chino
- Sand Textured Cotton Flat Front

My textured cotton chinos loosen between wears when unwashed, but revert to original size when washed. So no loosening up over time in the sense you mean it.

I am looking at picking up one of the jackets below. Does anyone have any experience of them, or good / bad things to say about them? I'm ideally looking for something on the warmer/substantial side (at least as far as a jacket like this can go, anyway!) Any advice/thoughts welcome on sizing too - unfortunately I can't get to a store easily to try.

I love everything in the A. Levine collab
I really like the collab! I would personally wear every piece except the poplin shirt and the quarter zip. The collection is very much his style and it’s great to see Drake’s venture in the realm of black in such casual way.

D-77 parka, jeans and the work shirt are 🔥! The work shirt seem to have disappeared though 🤔
Same, I'd wear the **** out of it all including the shirt and 1/4 zip. Not quite sure about the grey collared cardigan which is barely featured in lookbook or editorial.

Love the corduroy - timeless classic.

Has anyone got the current iteration of the suede overshirt? Tempted for it at the moment but not sure I can justify the price - are there any alternatives / similar versions away from drakes anyone might be able to recommend also?

I have it and I like it very much. It's quite thick, and I wear it more like a mid-season jacket. The “overshirt” side brings a nice stylistic touch compared to a more classic jacket. And the leather is really beautiful. I can find some photos for you if you're interested.

Thanks! Do you find it relatively versatile ? Seems more jacket than shirt

It’s a lovely piece. Have eyed up that and the chocolate brown suede chore for a while.

Just saw the PWVC brown Donegal on eBay. What a beaut of a coat. Not my size sadly but if anyone has a size 4 in that coat and would sell it to me please DM me.

What do you guys think is better? The PWVC Donegal, or the drakes raglan?

Yea, as usual, the pricing makes it so that these things have to be very special (for most) to want to pick them up.

Yea, fellow Californian, which is maybe why I'm into the concept you articulated as well. Your post is a really good way to describe it. I know some people don't buy into the contrast theory stuff, but as someone who looks somewhat boyish and is lowish contrast, I'm intrigued by the idea of dipping Drake's in black as a way to disrupt what might otherwise be too on the nose for me when I wear Drake's. Buck Mason x J Press has me always getting to the point of putting stuff in my basket only to not buy. The pricing is good, but I'm not sold on their palette either. Maybe I'll try some things and report back. Not to be a hater, but why are their models always seemingly in their 60s? Lol I want to see how these things look on younger guys too.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
