I will say this...
I emailed with a simple question to the info@ address rather than bug in the thread, as most companies prefer.
Almost a week and haven't heard a peep.
I realize they're busy, but email response is pretty easy.
Few things irritate me as much as getting ghosted by customer service.
Hey there could you pm your email address ill search our zendesk support system to find your ticket. It might be filtered out for some reason.

I emailed Monday, got a response on Tuesday, but haven't heard back since with some size help for the sneakers. Maybe it is just one person dealing with emails?
Ah yes since Tues as people went on holiday all teams were severely downsized. Maybe also pm me your address maybe i can have a look

Just want to check, I'm also in Canada and paid around $40 for duties. Should I contact customer support for reimbursement?
Yes please. I made an error so will cover it... As we now use DHL over our old couriers they no longer offer the service of letting us clear. So we will reimburse for this set and update the terms for any future orders.

I am messaging you my email now @ArchibaldRoh ... I am also in Canada and looking to add on for a pair of sneakers in the next set. Will we be responsible for duties and such in Canada from now on or something?

We are trying to sort out a new delivery partner or will adjust the pricing. The issue is that DHL charges a fee of about 20 CAD just to tell you to pay. We will work it out some way.

@ArchibaldRoh thank you for your explanation of how things went and for being this transparent and fair. I have been wearing my SF-01 today and they are great. Very comfortable and, although the tongue gate is there to some extent, honestly it does not show when I have the shoes on. I can see the leather creases slightly differently, yes, but I wonder if I would have noticed without knowing about it in beforehand and only from this pair.

So I am happy as a clam with them for now and waiting to see if stupid DHL can find the other pair. Funny I suggested to use them in the first place for Germany. They took only 18 hours to deliver the shoes, to be fair, but well, sometimes **** happens. If all problems were like this one, am I right?

I'll be happy to keep giving my 2 cents in the future and really want to see your brand grow further.

I know this isn't the thread but is anyone a size 40 on the HW01? We have the samples and although handwelted shoes are far less risky I think we need to stick with the new plan and have a designated member test them.

Thank you. And I am really sorry about DHL, we were actually speaking about it and have a solution if they fail you. Orlando will be in touch.

Also all, I wanted to let you know that Rose Anvil got his SF01s and sent us a note about them. He jumped on here, followed the last 10 or 15 pages of the discussion and got wind of tongue gate throuas well and asked us to comment so we sent over the response we drafted.

Thank you. And I am really sorry about DHL, we were actually speaking about it and have a solution if they fail you. Orlando will be in touch.

I appreciate it a lot!

Cool, thanks for all the work. Hopefully I get my sizing and such figured out. These shoes seem great and transparency is great

Yeah, DHL has never been a good economical option in Canada from my experience. I've gotten some items from EU over the years and their fees have been just ridiculous. Then again, being in Canada we usually get screwed somehow whether it be deliver fees, duties or just an insane markup.

I think as soon as customs are involved DHL (Express) sucks a lot. I've once had to wait for over 2 weeks for a (DHL Express) package which was already inside the country because nobody ever never contacted me about additionally required information and I always had to call them and ask them if they'd need anything else. In the end the amount I had to pay was also too much but it just wasn't worth the additional trouble so I just went with it.

UPS is pretty efficient regarding international customs in my experience.

Although inside the EU DHL is definitely one of the better delivery services (together with UPS and FedEx). Much much better than DPD, GLS or Hermes at least.

It is mainly taxes here in Canada due to CETA and these sneakers being made in Italy, but then everyone of the tack on their "fee" for paying for the taxes for you. I think UPS has the option for shipper to clear package and pay taxes beforehand. The only real way to get through the taxes is paying up front by shipper or use local mail delivery service as Canada Post doesn't have any taxes and such very often

DHL in the US is horrible, they have literally no options for delivery other than, leave the package at your back door, or wait at home for who knows when we’ll show up. No wonder UPS & FedEx kick their asses, they suck....real bad. Hell, even the USPS, with all of their failings, offer more delivery options.
