I like a couple that are as generous with the size of their libations as his lapel width.
I'm not sure who you mean but it ain't us. Both of those glasses are quite modest compared to typical champagne and martini glasses. The coup is about a 4oz size and the Nick & Nora is a 5oz size, but I usually make no more than a 4oz drink. Most martini glasses are basically buckets. Both glasses are from Kimura Glass.

Hello hive mind!
Can you wear a dark navy jacket together with regular black tuxedo trousers, or will the colours clash?

I might try it with a midnight blue jacket, but true navy would look a bit odd. Blue velvet of any shade would work well.

As I know you have many items made specifically for you, I'm sure you understand my point that for the price of a Tom Ford jacket purchased off-the-rack, you could have one made for you and have enough cash left over to wear that jacket to take someone out to a nice dinner.

I would not. I wear all sorts of different color dinner jackets with black trousers, but midnight blue and black just doesn't seem to work. I've tried the combination in front of a mirror at home, and it just looked to me like I'd just accidentally grabbed the wrong jacket.

Yeah this is what I feared. Such a shame because I found this SuSu jacket on eBay but I guess that you would have to have the matching trousers for it to work.
Addendum: Would it work with midnight navy odd trousers or does it have to be the same fabric? The fabric in question is a summery cotton-silk mix and I'm not sure if SuSu ever made matching trousers.

If you're still taking general comments: they don't normally have to be exactly the same, but this sounds like a jacket which will be lightweight and may have somewhat of a sheen. Heavy barathea trousers wouldn't pair so well with that, but something like mohair or another lightweight fabric might.

It might. It's so difficult to speculate. Personally, I'm not averse to mixing black separates (I have a black seersucker dinner jacket that I seldom wear, but I wear it with regular black tuxedo trousers), but midnight blue might be less successful.

Thank you both for the input. I am leaning on passing on the jacket, even though the cut and price makes it really really tempting. However nothing is as expensive as a jacket that never gets any wear.

Even if it's not noticeable to other people, if you're anything like me it is going to bother you to no end. I would pass.

suit supply often sells separates for tux trousers. You might be able to pick up the same style ones.

I replaced my tux pants with suit supply ones, and it must be the same fabric because it is not really distinguishable even under direct light

Sounds like such a strange DJ, though, with as many options as you’ve got, why not get a bit frisky?
I’d be very curious to see it.

It's not all that strange. Indeed, unless you're quite close, it is not really discernible as seersucker at all.

What are everyone's thoughts on using the William halstead 3 ply 55% wool 45% kid mohair in midnight mohair for a three piece dinner jacket? It's a cloth reminiscent of the old tonik
