Great price! I'm still a fan of the Schott Zwiesel Tritan crystal Forte line up. $7 a stem. This is my "universal" glass I have a few dozen of and use 99% of the time and for tastings. I'm got their Burgundy, white wine, and Champs too but only a dozen each of those.

So I got this info from the CT forum and I'm reposting their pics. Anyone looking for entry level bordeaux stemware, this is probably the most killer deal out there. I'm picking up a couple boxes for our FL condo and also picking up some for a tasting at our house next month. $18.99 for 8 glasses made in Germany by Riedel. Other posters mentioned the quality control isn't quite what you'd expect from a normal riedel and they also are not watermarked- but hey, $2.37/glass - say no more.

"Pic below shows this stem in the middle, betwixt Riedel Vinum and Riedel Sommelier Bordeaux stems."

Thanks for the heads up. I'll check to see if they're available at our local Costco, since I've broken a few of my glasses (those are delicate little things, aren't they?) and might need a replacement set.

I've had Villa Antinori many, many times for this exact reason. For the price, it's great.

Anitori is my favorite wine period. The tuscan blend is just great.

I had this exact wine at chez pannisse. Was surprised at how fruit forward it is.

Recommendations for whites that are more grassy and herbal? I had a French Sauv Blanc but it was more tropical fruit than grass--any particular appelation that gets those notes?

Total wine stopped carrying I believe. They were "winery direct" so I wonder if they had a falling out. I have a couple bottles in the cellar, and they've received pretty favorable scores from Cellar tracker users.

I don't know if it is the French influence or what but I have been scoring some great, cheap Bordeaux here in Phnom Penh. I've gotten some great 2009 and 2010 vintages. I've run into some duds, which I assume is due to the heat and bad storage, but they are so cheap I don't mind pulling the trigger on any I find.

Decanted for sediment. Was bright garnet upon open but showing bricking by the end of dinner. Tannins were very present but not grippy, lively acidity but on the tart side. The nose was all about dried. Dried cherries, dried flowers, dried Provencal herbs. Nice bottle but drink up.

2013 Two Vinters, Columbia Valley, Syrah. Wow, what a QPR. Great fruit, plush, not overly extracted but a little mocha. What did FP charge for this? $18? I'll buy a case if it is reoffered.

I'm a big fan of Morgan Lee, the winemaker for two vintners and Covington cellars, as well as for the block wines project put out by full pull.
He knows his way around wa Syrah, that's for sure. Young guy too.
