We got new windows and its time for curtains/ drapes. Looking for advice on the curtain rod/ support system as I imagine someone in this thread has done a deep dive and can point me to the appropriate options.

My in-laws have a gigantic house and use maybe like half the space in it, but they're never going to leave. They've already talked about putting an elevator in if mobility restrictions get to them.

It'll take something huge to get my parents to leave their place, but my dad has already said that whoever owns it next is already in for an experience. They're either going to really love gardens or haul out tens of tons of landscaping boulders lol.
We found drawings with an elevator and additional bedroom above the garage. Never came to fruition, but NGL have toyed the idea of calling up the company and getting some quotes, who doesn't want a elevator?

There’s a pretty sick non-updated property on the market now.

But it is like 25% more than I want to pay, and it would probably close right when my wife is due leaving neither money nor time to start making those updates.

But it is pretty neat, has a big extra garage/shop that might convert easily into an ADU and sits on 2.5 acres in a prime spot that might be a strong candidate for subdividing in the future as development catches up.

The building next door to us is on the market. 2 permitted units, something like 2500 square feet, probably another 1,000 square feet of unpermitted space. Same owners for >50 years and decades of deferred maintenance.

Asking price is $1.65M, but the buyer had better be ready to put at least another million into it, if not 2 or 3. I'd love to buy it but can't make that math work.
