Had a 2011 Dragon Vineyard Turley tonight. The BAM! in your face of so many Turleys has mellowed and fallen out. Savory herbs, dark berry like mullberry or something, really nice smooth tannins. Wish I had more.

Edit: I also just landed a couple of 96 Georges de Latour Private Reserve.

They've also used more restraint under their new head winemaker, Tegan. Last 2-3 vintages I believe.

I just picked up some 2015 Turley Bechtold Vineyard Cinsault. I've posted about this wine here before, but it's one of my favorite U.S. quaffer wines and one of the few I actively seek out. Tegan's doing some interesting things with Turley and with his own label Sandlands. The Turley portfolio is still dominated by big, high alcohol zins, but they do seem more balanced and less of a punch in your face than they were when Helen Turley/Ehren Jordan were making them. It's impressive that Tegan can make good wine in such a wide variety of styles.

Enjoyed a 2014 Four Graces Willamette PN last night. At $18.99 from Costco, I would venture to say that's the best "Willamette Valley" I've ever had for under $20. Really high quality juice that must see some new French oak. I'm buying with both hands next trip to Costco.

Given their strong entry level effort, I'd imagine their single vineyard stuff is pretty killer... anyone had any?

Costco offerings differ by location (they have regional buyers), but if it comes by a store near me, I'll check it out.

Long time lurker, first time poster. My older brother pulled this out of his cellar for an evening dinner. 2006 Sine Qua Non "Shot in the Dark". He's on an allocation list so he paid well below current retail at the release. A really great bottle of wine that matches my preferences. It's going to be tough to top this one anytime soon.

I've had a chance to taste a couple of SQN and they really are mind blowing.

Is there any reason why Full Pull hasn't shipped the three cases of wine I have confirmed there? I'm not that concerned (don't need them, just curious), just wondering if they have any reason (like temp on the journey to me, etc) to have withheld shipping thus far

Email them and find out. I've always had very good communication with them.

Krish - I believe it is due to temperature.

I asked Pat about it about two weeks ago. He indicated:

Hi Josh,
Not currently but should be okay in a few weeks.
Thanks and you too.

So I got this info from the CT forum and I'm reposting their pics. Anyone looking for entry level bordeaux stemware, this is probably the most killer deal out there. I'm picking up a couple boxes for our FL condo and also picking up some for a tasting at our house next month. $18.99 for 8 glasses made in Germany by Riedel. Other posters mentioned the quality control isn't quite what you'd expect from a normal riedel and they also are not watermarked- but hey, $2.37/glass - say no more.

"Pic below shows this stem in the middle, betwixt Riedel Vinum and Riedel Sommelier Bordeaux stems."
