Great friggin day for me, found lots of cash. Yay. Pics of that eventually.

But the keepers! Woot! Im on a roll...

First, this sign which absolutely sums up ThriftLife
2122.png
:

I never really check shirts, glad I did, awesome Gant Rugger, fits like a glove, 2 random ties for me, and a 100% cashmere scarf, $2.99, $1.99, $1.99, and $1.99 respectively :

Im going to need a bigger library for all the books I thrifted, this awesome NY photo book is from the 70s and has all kinds of great vintage photos :

And for the fourth time in my life, I find shell... and for the first one of those times, they fit!! :bounce2: Marked a 10E, Im usually a 9.5 D which is odd - a little roomy but will hold on to them for a bit. SUPER STOKED!

Oh, it all happened wearing this (does anyone else feel its good luck to thrift while wearing something thrifted? Im a little superstitious, I always wear something thrifted to appease the gods... )

SHOUT TO MATTY LONG LEGS for the proxy on the Harmont & Blaine jacket... me and my best friend (check the logo by her nose):

Thanks Nat!

While youre here, no pics yet, but I got a recent Gerry made in USA technical jacket. I paid $25 for it. I know sight unseen, but my phone was dead and I couldnt look anything up. Are the new ones flippable?

Hmm, I'm not sure as I usually pass on the newer stuff. Cool details? I'm sure you can make your money back. Sadly I don't think newer Gerry stuff does too well. I could be wrong though. As I said, I've stuck with the vintage stuff. Let me know if you do well and I'll start picking it up! :D

Ha, will do. Id say late 90s early 00s. Black with a blue inset thing. Youll see it soon. Thanks for the advice, I rolled the dice.

Oh, one more thing - some of you guys are pros at polishing shell. I happen to a. not have the time and b. am not good at it at all and c. nobody in my hood knows how to do so.

Does anyone have (or want to be entrepreneurial and start one) a mail-me-your-shoes-to-polish business for shell? I know theres pro patina dudes in europe, but just looking for a little homegrown action.

Anyway, if you do, hit me up.

Couple finds from yesterday:

Vintage-style silk jeweled dress from Australian designer Alannah Hill. Tagged 10 but fits like a US 4-6. Available.

Their stuff is pretty pricey new.

which guys here thrift womens wear? I need to help my wife with her wardrobe; so I'm looking to do some purchases and trades in the near future.

...and if anyone has any tips for navigating the women's area, let me know. I know how to spot quality mens stuff quick, but not so much the ladies

^^ Womens is a mystery to me, unless its a well known label. When I thrift in the womens section, I look for material first - leather, suede, tweed, croc. Then a label. My wife thrifts like a pro in women's but she only buys **** for herself to wear.

Brian those Cowichan sweaters  I wish they were M's or L's!
