Fat ski weather but not for the faint of heart.
I’m not sure they’ll run the clinics I’m signed up for, and if I just go up to ski I may be heading into another snowmageddon when everything shuts down.

On a lift at PC last year (or the year before?) and chatted with a life long, hardcore skier from Tahoe. I asked him "Wait, you're from Tahoe? What are you doing here?" He said there was too much snow in Tahoe. The resorts were so buried that even the resort crews and staffs couldn't get in and out to work. Essentially, they were snowed out. He said in his whole life they'd never had so much snow that had happened.

Again, as a Florida based skier who's late in life to the game, never really realized that too much snow could be a problem.

Hope this year's Tahoe season comes back around for y'all!

The Donner Party was stopped by an unusually early but not atypical set of storms that dropped >20’ of snow in late November. It’s insane how much snow can come down in these atmospheric river events.

The forecast is for this to be a pretty warm storm with snow levels above 7000’ most of the time. Looks like it’ll be sloppy but not overwhelming.

I skied Tahoe for over 40 years and I've seen 40 foot bases, overnights in the feet with trenches cut under the lifts to clear the snow. The base area in front of that Subbie is level with the parking lot. As @imatlas said snowmaggadons indeed

This kid was working on getting his skis more parallel, but I caught him more pizza’d on his second black of the day. We cut out just before a power outage stopped the lifts.

I don't know much about teaching kids, mine were snowboarders:rolleyes: but aren't those poles a bit LONG

They’re a bit long, but not as bad as the pic makes it look. He won’t let me shorten them.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
