Did you buy those white jacno's, rire? I think I need them.

Edit: I really didn't want to have to follow up a rire fit pic, but here's one of me channelling my inner Ron Asheton for the Bernie rally in Ann Arbor. Celine leather, flare denim. View attachment 1351964

This is also a nice picture. Wich size did you take for this jacket? It fits good.

Thanks man, it's a size 50. I usually would take a 48 or a 50 in most brands, if that helps.

I received my Sl-003 black jeans today that I purchased on pretty deep discount through endclothing (great service, by the way). These are the slim straight low-rise black jeans in 100% cotton. I wanted to get a size 30, but they only had a 31, so I thought I'd try it out, and I'm actually quite glad I did, since these fit perfect. In fact, they're pretty tight, but should break in really nicely since they're cotton.

I also took a 31 in the flares, which leads me to believe that going up a size from your usual denim may be required for most body types in these 100% cotton jeans from Celine. I'll try to post some pics for you guys when I get them bback from the tailor.

That's interesting to hear because I've had to take my true size/a size down for a lot of the bottoms I've gotten so far from CELINE.

For reference I'm a 27 in F/W2013 SLP D02s and I took a 27 in both my SK 003+001, 26 in my wide beige chinos, selvedge union wash denim, and flares. Granted the flares up at the high-waist feel pretty tight but I'm sure it'll stretch out.

Image taken from the official website.
I am nitpicking but it's worrying that this pass the quality control.
What do you think?

Bingo!
It may be insignificant but at this price point it should not happen.

Check the denim jacket with the diagonal seams in SS20. The sewing is horrendous.

I mean if it isn't clear up to this point, you're not paying for quality with these fashion brands. The retail price is x10 the wholesale price which is x8 the cost of the actual garment. I really can't get behind any brand or justify any purchase since I started working in the fashion industry.

This might seem off-topic but allow me to elaborate on the last point. It might sound gullible or you might've heard it a thousand times, but fashion is all about marketing and brand perception. Most of the money goes there, not on quality control or actual product development. If anything fashion held the technological evolution of garment making. Garments are basically being made the same way we did in the last 100 years. The only engineering feats done are just to accelerate and perfect the whole process rather to innovate and produce new ways to assemble garments. Fashion basically substituted actual garment engineering with seasonal style variations of the same pieces.

Celine is a perfect example of this. HS is just re-doing vintage pieces that his team thrifted (mostly from japan). Sometimes it results in a good product, but most times it doesn't. The Celine quality is simply unacceptable with price they're charging. The materials and accessories are subpar and the construction is very average. HS lost me with this Celine reboot.

I've seen the denim jacket you mentioned. Only Bonnie Tyler can wear this kind of thing.

I'm not agree at 100% with you, some pieces are very well tailored. But some are crappy.

It's really hard to get tailoring wrong with the recent manufacturing technology. I would argue that this is the most perfected manufacturing process of any industrialized garment out there. Almost every difficult step that requires time and skill is replaced by a machine that does the job efficiently (ironing, basting the interlining etc). Wish the same could be said about leather RTW.

Plus HS approach is very simple and clean. The "skinny" silhouette is a rectangle cut close to the body without following its forms. the front dart and the center back are very small, they don't give the garment much shape (I'm not implying it's a bad thing). But the pants fit only a specific bodytype, have you seen men's red carpet looks? Pants are hedi's biggest blind spot, he's still relying on his past successes.

@Deonfate /// to get back to my post, is this kind of misalignment acceptable or not ? For me no, and furthermore how can it be on the website. It's like nobody really cares.

@youwhat ///It was retorical, isn't ?
