Easy.
If you can avoid it, don't get your clothes tailored.
But when you are rather short, there is no way around it.
Changing the cut between sizes in order to maintain the desired appearance is a profession and something that luxury brands usually do very well.
An in house tailor can't replicate that.
I GG Allin's case, because he was the one asking the question, i would say, get a size 29 of the slim model as well to see which is better.

Never thought I would buy buckle or single monk strap shoes, as I am more boots guy... Just realized from stock that I do have one pair from Hedi...2014 SS shoes are best in my opinion, but just didn’t buy enough, like Dickie I missed...

Yeah, I can't disagree with you there... in that instance hemming may be the least worse option. But as an overall recommendation it is a tough argument for you to win as the market so strongly states otherwise. I wouldn't be surprised if you only got 50 cents on the dollar for a hemmed banger (like an OG blowout).

As for the waist, I messed with it once and I wasn't too happy... but admitedly it is a very limited sample.

Again, kind of avoiding my point of buying clothes for the sake for wearing them and worrying about reselling later on.
I used to be the same way, but really once you tailor your clothes to fit you perfectly it's a whole different feeling; if you're spending 800$+ on designer jeans to resell in the future the value will go down once you wear it/fade it out anyway.

For waist size I always feel it's best to buy when it's a little too tight, it'll always stretch out if even a little bit. I feel like hemming and getting the length just right is where a lot of looks/fittings go "wrong". Of course it's personal preference, but if you're going for a clean and "intended" look then it's almost necessary for most people unless you have stilts for legs.

CELINE I feel like makes "classics", really all of the clothes meld together so far from season to season that they come to make a whole wardrobe. Unless you have the "standout" pieces, I don't think any of this has any retainable "resell value". Most people aren't buying from retail anyway.

I have really skinny legs and even I have to get the thighs taken in every time I buy a new pair of 'luxury' denim. Of course SLP or Celine won't be manufacturing anything – especially denim – cut exactly as it was with the runway fits (which are made to measure anyway), nobody would fit in them so in my experience, even when you have those 'model' legs, there's always some tailoring to do.

Agreed, Same for me.
I need thighs taken in and hemmed.

Don't worry if your fit pics suck, or whatever. Just try to post some anyway, cause we're just trying to get an idea of how this stuff fits. Also, if you see some on social media that are good, post those too.

Size 44, I’m 6’1 (probably need 46 but wasn’t in stock that day). Leather looked and felt amazing to me, very luxurious.

rire that looks incredible on you. the leather does look great, very subtle and the color is classic yet interesting. Did you pick up the boots, too? i see they're heavily advertised on the site, which makes sense since they're very clean but still a departure.

Did you buy those white jacno's, rire? I think I need them.

Edit: I really didn't want to have to follow up a rire fit pic, but here's one of me channelling my inner Ron Asheton for the Bernie rally in Ann Arbor. Celine leather, flare denim.

Visible Pick Stitching on Lapels and Pockets

  • It’s a mark of quality and craftsmanship

  • I like it when it’s subtle

  • I don’t like visible stitching

  • Doesn’t matter to me
