I’ve wondered why one shop (L’atelier) from the two that carry JMM in Madrid (the other being Optica Toscana) AFAIK never carried any LF. I always assumed they struggle to sell close to €1K frames, let alone €2K ones as this ain’t Monaco or Dubai.

And Optica Toscana does carry LF frames but I’ve seen some Thundercloud and Cody for sale for the longest time (Cody looks huge so not the easiest one to sell tbh).
Didn’t realise you were in Madrid.
I got my very limited vermillion Dealans from Toscana. Luckily I have a mate in Valencia who got them for me and I reimbursed him as the shop wasn’t really set up for international trade but don’t be surprised if I lean on you one day if they have some exclusive limited edition again!😁

It is a bit odd when they do these very limited collabs with certain shops. I also have turquoise Dealans from Black Optical. At one time I was visiting the MIA / FLL area frequently and there’s a chain of Edward Beiner shops who had a collab going too (marine blue which I was excited to try but they were too dark for my liking).

I’m happy to be a proxy (no fee) for the regulars (except for someone who didn’t bother to reply to my several messages when I wanted to buy some Fellinis from him, apprently he wanted CONUS only but failed to mention it and to reply to my messages as I say), I didn’t know Toscana didn’t ship internationally. And it’s not just exclusives, sometimes a particular frame/colourway is nowhere to be found except for that one small shop.

Maxfield also has the exclusive Ascari in that same Vermillion acetate.

And I know who that fella from Valencia might be lol.

Does anyone know what this one is? It was in a promo email from November. Thought it might be LF but just a guess.

I know a couple big retailers in SoCal who don't carry LF, I assume due to geographical proximity to the JMM boutiques. I remember the Edward Beiner by me had some LF frames years ago, but didn't keep them on display. They only brought them out in a trunk after I chatted with them for a while.
JMM must figure that due to the lower number of units they can keep most of the sales in-house.

One said that jmm just makes heavy glasses and they aren’t in style anymore (she (the store owner) said “I’m over it”).

Another didn’t say much but just gave a little “eh - not my favorite brand” kind of vibe.

Another talked more openly (this one actually has its own made in Japan brand) - they directly said they are annoyed at how they can’t predict what they will get and when they come - also said that they have issues selling their normal optical frames and wasn’t sure if they were going to stay as a vendor.

I also had multiple vendors say they are cutting akoni as well btw. I think akoni will be dead soon as it seems like they don’t sell at all.
A place in South OC where I bought my Enzos when I asked about Dita.

"They are asssholes and I'd never do business with them"

Some opticals are priority for the brand in comparison to others. You see some AD's getting always first some models. I'm in Barcelona and here we have Optica Toscana as well (the only JMM AD in the city) and they have the new releases first.
Just to give you an example: in mid November I was contacted by the sales associate that they received a pair of Taos Lapis when it wasn't listed nowhere else (not in the JMM website or any other AD). When I went there they also had Dealan and Whiskeyclone when some people who pre-ordered were still waiting to get notified the frames were delivering.
In the case of Optica Toscana it helps that they are available in the 2 biggest Spanish cities (also Mallorca) and they have 3 stores so they order in bigger quantities. I think the more you buy the most limited modela you're offered.
