Could you post picks when you get a chance? I have considered Leffot's tobacco shoes and boots for a while, but there are very few pics of broken in or worn shoes in this leather on the internet.

Interesting. Troubling.

This happened after the first wear outside (after the Mac break in on carpet first). I sent pictures to Che and she said its normal. I have a pair of RL chamois shoes that look fine. They are at my office I will post pictures tomorrow.

nephew,
good looking combo

Uncle, thank you very much. You have had several Ravello grand slams the past few days yourself.

just perfection. a fine pair of shoes right there.

Thank you MrDV! I am still jealous of your Color 4 SWBs.

That shine! That luster! Those argyles! Hmmm. Anybody ever notice you never see mdubs and Uncle Mac together in the same place at the same time? I wonder…

LoL, funny as we are both Michael W's, but I assure you that we are different people indeed and come from opposite sides of the country.

Solid, Mike. Solid.

I'm Ravello, errrr, green with envy!

Ironclad, do not be envious, just search hard and be patient you can find yourself some beautiful pieces of Ravello Shell Cordovan.

^^^Oh my Mike. Those are beautiful. They look like Hershey's Chocolate!

Never heard of shoes being Hershey's Chocolate, but I will take it! :)

Holy crap they are stunners!!!

Thank you very much Tif!

mdubs - stunners! Man can live on #8 and Ravello LWB alone.

Thank you Sazon. The Alden LWB is a very classy and versatile shoe.

Have a great Monday and Happy 2014.

Interesting is right, the left shoe looks supersaturated with the oils.
I wonder if there is a way to make them more uniform.
I would suggest emailing Nick @ Horween and asking his opinion.
You may find a positive result.
You may also want to use a nubuck brush to raise the nap slightly.

Because I'm probably not the only person on this forum who has broken in a pair of Aldens while walking around the house in pajamas....

Nice PJs... :) and very nice cap toe boots. Look very clean right now, given that they have Commando soles, I imagine they will get well used.

hi, I have both pairs. I would recommend the shell ptbs. classic pair which you can wear with jeans and/or business casual all work week long. the navy jcrew works well with chinos. I wear khakis a couple of times a week so the navy works for me.

Thats a fun set of shoes. I like the light edging and brass eyelets on the Navy. Very unique make-up. But I concur, not going to fly with a suit...

Mike, those are very cool shoes. I like them alot... Any shots of the side? I would love to see the effect of the edging against the leather.

Sorry for the picture quality, they are from a galaxy s4. Some are with flash, some are without flash to try to give you comprehensive idea

They are definitely great shoes. I like them a lot and enjoy wearing them. I wish they wore more evenly but considering the nature of this leather, its not totally unexpected.
