I am just back from a week in London, traveling with a longtime friend who was in need of a good vacation. I believe I provided expert tour guide services. Acquisitions from the trip are featured in the attached photos - one purchase (a silk brocade waistcoat from Favourbrook) and a gift (a bow tie from Le Noeud Papillon). I've thrown in three "lifestyle" photos - one from dinner at the National Liberal Club, one from drinks at the Royal Overseas League Club, and one from Covent Garden (a most excellent performance of "Fidelio").

The photos have been spoilered for those without sufficient bandwidth (or interest) to view them.

For those of you old enough to remember the "You'll Wonder Where The Yellow Went" TV commercials and who are still wondering where the yellow went, I found some of it today.

Brooks Brothers camel hair jacket and tie, L L Bean OCBD shirt, Nordstrom sweater vest, Rugby Ralph Lauren pocket square, Orvis trousers, Eddie Bauer socks, and Allen-Edmonds shoes.

A plant, a ghost, a gigantic cookie, and me.

Close up of the shoes. The shoes are Kudu leather.

It's been a long while since I've posted on this side of the forum.... but I was speaking at the French Embassy today, so I thought I'd dress as English as I could. ;-)

For those with long memories, this is one of two suits I bought from an online estate sale that were made in the early 60s in London, for a guy the same initials as me, that fit me almost perfectly... tie (which needed a bit of tightening) is Post-Imperial, square is vintage, shoes are Crockett and Jones, and the shirt is Turnbull and Asser. The pin is the marker of my national research chair.

Before I post anything else in this thread I must exclaim: paddock suit!

Such a rare sight these days.

I took the opportunity of Halloween to dress up in costume as 'Me how I would like to dress on a daily basis.' the rub here is that my office is VERY casual and suits are as out of place on a regular
working day as demon heads.

My favorite thing about this cloth is how FU big the PoW check is and my favorite thing about this suit is how the tailor embraced that.
