The Leather Soul Vintage Indy boot is a favorite around here and it doesn't come around often.

If you're a 9.5D on the TB, there is currently a pair on TSM seconds page.

Very interesting @ProfilaBinding, thanks for the response. I’m using an iPhone 15 Pro which is pretty recent but there doesn’t seem to be an intuitive way to reduce the file size.

I use an iPhone 13, because it was cheap, but I want to add that I don't upload from my phone anymore. I always send it to my computer first and then upload or resize. It's just a lot easier for me to work on a computer than phone.

The fact that phone cameras have gotten so good and file size has gotten so large yet there aren't good resizers innate to the phones' OSs, well, I'm no tech guru but it seems like a no-brainer. Esp since 95% of phone pics are used on the web, not 17mp 11x14 prints.

I realize I may be giving away my $500 idea, but go ahead, steal it, solve the problem, buy me a Scotch. Please.
Good idea. I wish techs focus was on improving what’s already out there instead of thinner novelties that provide better margins for the buyers of our personal information.

Here’s a slightly less dumb way on the iPhone. From Photos app do a Save to Files. In Files app open the image then tap the dropdown by the image name. Pick export, then jpeg and you’re presented with size options and you can then save the image.

There is a built-in way to upload photos even from the latest iPhones: when you attach a picture, select “Options” in the bottom left or bottom right corner (depending on the version of iOS), and reduce the resolution (or “Size”). IME going from “Full Size” to “Large” is enough for the upload to go through.

That option hasn’t shown up for me in ages. It was also browser dependent.

Guys, this is one of those questions/request for assistance that I feel a little silly having to ask but here goes. When posting pics to SF from my iphone, I used to be able to grab them from my photo library and post with no problems, ever. I’m no camera expert but this was nice because I could edit (generally limited to cropping and/or rotating) and then post. That all changed some time ago (maybe 6 months, maybe a year, can’t recall) when anytime I would post I’d get an SF error message indicating that the file was too large.

Anyone have any insights into what I can do to avoid this message? Maybe an iphone camera setting but for the life of me, I can’t find it. I am about to post a few (ok, more than a few) Alden’s and EG’s for sale and it would be so much more convenient if I could avoid the file too large error message.

As always, any help is greatly appreciated.
Mine is an ineloquent solution that may actually alter the photo quality, but if you screenshot your picture, then posting it shouldn’t be a problem.

Inelegant? Maybe. But it is the first solution I’ve heard that I’m willing to do. I’m not going to email a file to myself (though I appreciate the suggestion). Way too much effort to simply post a pic. I’m not changing my browser. Apple default of Safari is good enough for all other sites. No way I’m changing just to post a pic. It is amazing to me that this is even as issue and I am not blaming SF (usability of the site on a mobile device is a separate matter). I’m an Apple fan but c’mon guys, I should be able to right-click a photo and be presented with an option to reduce the file size.

Much appreciated @Vincent George (and to everyone who offered suggestions). Truly appreciated.

Any love for Alden’s burgundy calf?

I’ve only ever had one pair of burgundy calf shoes - C&J Bostons. I found the color too… eggplanty? and never wore them. But Alden’s burgundy looks darker and more versatile.

I know, why bother when you have color 8 shell? Well, I’m coming back to calf and suede after a shell buying phase. Still love shell of course but I’ve been missing the softness of both these uppers.

Here’s a nice example, from Leather Soul. I’m considering getting something similar and treating with dark brown polish to see where it goes.

Just back from Aram, I had him replace the speed hooks on these TB plain toes to all eyelets as few the hooks were very loose and some looked like they could eventually tear at the eyelets. Couldn’t be happier, his work is so clean.

Same. That’s what makes this so frustrating. Used to be easy-peasy. Good grief.

Those look so good. Aram is as good as they come and that is such a clean/elegant boot. Nicely done!

These are actually from Dashing Chicago. Forget what they called it but it’s a TB plain toe on black neocork with Indy quarter stitch
The Whisper Boot. Looks great ! Aram is amazing.
