Just in time for Fall (at least here in California, where today is a sunny 66°F). Had to let Jim at Alden SF know I was looking for a Snuff Suede 9794 LWB in my 8.5C Barrie dress shoe size. Once they arrived, he promptly notified me. Love this factory standard make-up since it has the double waterloc soles and blind eyelets.

I have a pair of these and they’re a favorite. So soft.

I’d love a pair in dark brown suede, but I’ve never seen those. Has Alden ever made them?

Yes Brick & Mortar did but they're on last call now. No more reruns.

They're not in production yet so you can still place a preorder.

Yeah those are nice.

Leffot runs a similar make up but with commando. Currently sold out but they do reruns. I have a pair of theirs and they're great.

B&M has a reverse tobacco chamois also with matching eyelets. Limited sizes

But I'm partial to the humus. Suede feels much lighter than chamois to me. So depends what you're after.

UPS just dropped off these Cigar Shell Cordovan LHS loafers from Sherman Bros. What I am most excited for with these are not the fact that they are Cigar, but rather that they feature the tall vamp (was told this was referred to as "Madison fit") which greatly improved my heel slippage when buying my normal Barrie size on Van last. All of my other Alden Van last loafers are half size smaller than Barrie cause I have low instep and flat feet, which make for unwearable heel slip.

Here are some comparison shots with my other Van last loafers that are size 8D compared to these which are 8.5D. Notice how much higher up the vamp is on the Cigar loafers.
