Alright folks....Help me make a decision or at least please offer your thoughts. Which of these 3 should i choose? I recently purchased a pair of Color 8 LWB w/ Antique Edge from AoM and i'd like to add another pair of color 8 to my collection. Here are the 3 i'm debating on:

I was originally leaning hard towards picture 3, but after further thought, i think i prefer shoe #2 over shoe #3. That said, shoe #1 is a completely different look than most of the shoes i own, so i feel like that really should be my choice. Thoughts....?

I pulled the trigger on the Color 8 U-Tip. The pair i ordered is slightly "imperfect", but i decided to go for it, in favor of waiting until April for my size to come back into stock. The good news is i was able to snag a decent discount, since they were not perfect. Apparently these shoes passed Alden's standards, but not AoC, so that's why they offered a discount. I'll post pictures of the shoes once i receive them.

Thanks to all of you guys for giving me the nudge that i needed to make the decision on the U-Tips.

Does anyone know what last the short wing wingtip is built over?
I believe it's the Leydon if you're speaking of the Alden stock version. I have seen some store-specific make-ups that use Aberdeen.

Received my first ever pair of Aldens yesterday. Please excuse the terrible background. I need a dedicated shoe studio. Anyway, these are from Brooks Brothers but appear to be straight up Dovers. In spite of the product description, they have an unlined tongue and vamp. I checked with Alden and they’re made on the Barrie last. I took my regular size and they feel great but maybe just a touch roomy in the heel. For those of you with Dovers, do you find that they fit similarly to other Barrie shoes?

Also some of the nail heads on the heel are not sunken and are actually protruding a bit. Will these become flush with wear or should it be somehow addressed? Thanks!

I hope you don't mind me asking, but from the last photo it looks like your pinkie toe is pressing on the side. Are they just a tad too narrow or maybe very new? Just curious.
The curse of "duck feet", wide at the ball of the foot and very slim at the heel with a low instep. If I go for more width than my heel will be swimming. All my running shoes and sneakers eventually blow out at the pinkie toe. Barrie is actually a good fit for me with no discomfort at the toe. Plaza is a great fit but the narrower toe of the grant last just doesn't work for me. These are fairly new and will mold to my foot. Here's a shot of a well worn barrie tanker and a plaza indy for comparison.

Nice shoe! For me the dover pattern has been more snug than a ptb pattern. I also find unlined to be tighter as well. A tongue pad should take care of any heel slippage. Enjoy!

I see. Marvelous shoes, just the same. The barrie Tanker looks fantastic.
