Why not check out the UK's best producers? The exchange rate may get you some sweet deals.
Drake's carries Alden. But agreed, it's an excellent time to try out some Crockett and Jones or (if you're swank) Gaziano and Girling.
Just got these 6 eyelet Dark Brown Regina Grain Indy Chukka's from Adam at AOC. What a great guy to do business with. These are on Trubalance. I don't think I've ever seen an Alden chukka on TB. Double Waterloc, Antique welt and edge. Pretty pretty good. With unhemmed (pardon!) Epaulet Tobacco "Twords": Better photography: http://www.alden-of-carmel.com/shoes-dark-brown-regina-grain-indy-chukka-563.htm
Incredible boots! As a well-documented chukka aficionado (7 pairs!!), my interest is officially piqued. looks like I'll have to get on this next time around.
Yeah, I have a pair in Black Shell.

Great assortment, Mike! I assume they're all equivalent lengths? Would you mind sharing the sizing for each?

Hey guys what do you think about these whiskey shell PTB? These are my first pair of Alden shell and second pair of Alden's in the last 30 days. I was emailing Ed at TSM about getting on a list for their planned make ups and he mentioned he saw these in stock at the warehouse. He said maybe someone canceled their order.

So, I ordered them. I must say I was extremely nervous trying them on, since I didn't want to crease them if they didn't fit properly. I was only able to try boots in the Barrie last. I am so relieved they fit well!

They do look darker than other whiskey shell photos I have seen, but I still like the color.

Pardon the iPhone pics.

Some Cigar goodness
Always good to see a Cigar Indy Boot and those are a fantastic shade.

Another cool day here. Flannel and speedhook trashed 501's. Full disclosure.. it was a C&J boot .. speed hooks kept hanging on all pants.. I got rid of them. Alden hooks don't seem to do that.
Ha. Speedhooks can be evil like that sometimes.

Your Shortwing Bluchers are still looking very clean sir.
Cigar shell Indy. Does Alden still make these?
For those interested, follow the link in the signature.
They are still available from TheShoeMart periodically.
Just googled it....seems the Gianni is a nice boot ...more formal. Funny when I first started buying, those C&J I would have preffered to the Indy as I hated the Indy off center moc...but the Grant last removes that. Now the Indy and tankers fit my casual style perfect
I had a Gianni but sold it to get my Cigar Indy Boot. It was a nice looking Boot but had a very different vibe to it with the more formal Last and the machine stitching.
Number 4 on the 4th.

Those are just absolutely stunning Zippy. I don't know what else to say.

Those are pretty cool and unique with it being an Indy Chukka. Reminds me somewhat of the B+M NST that I wore yesterday.
Speaking of olive Cigar, I enjoyed my Cigar CT Medallion boots (on aberdeen) today...
Those are just so good Repp. I miss those boots, fortunately I have a few others to take care of me.

Thanks Patrick, the Cigar TBs are a 10.5B, the Black Granrs are a 10.5C, and Color 8 Plazas are 11B. -Mike

You should buy a lottery ticket. That's pretty good luck! Even better since they fit! Recent Whiskey has been dark. Not sure if or when it will lighten up again. It all depends on the skin and the tanning.

Thank you gentlemen for the compliments. I dig the Regina Grain.

Something interesting:

Because I had not seen any of them, I asked if the 6 eyelet chukka was a rarity, Adam replied: "The factory is discontinuing production of the six eyelet chukka indefinitely, because some of the old equipment used to make that design has broken." "Alden won’t be making that style for the foreseeable future."

So @peppercorn78 you might want to email Adam as he does have more sizes in stock.

Lovely and those will sell fast. If they were a size 9 I'd be all over them.

Shoemart just did a run of those .. got them in October :slayer:

Now that's some sweet old school whiskey! What year were the made Mike? I had a pair of whiskey PTB'sfrom about four years ago that looked like that shade.
