I wore my natural shell Dundees for the second time yesterday, and there seemed to be a fair amount of white residue gathering in and/or close to where the shoe is creasing. Is this bloom already or am I just surrounded by dust? I've heard the lighter colors of shell have more issues with bloom. It brushed right off pretty easily either way.

That's bloom. I think it should lessen over time.

Cross-post from the AE Appreciation thread.

Maiden voyage of the Navy shell Dundees today. Wore them for a while, then got home and hit them with some Bick 4 (a few dry spots from when they arrived), brushed them, and buffed them. No polish/VSC yet.

First picture is when I was out with them, last three are after cleaning them up.

Belt and laces came in today -- and I found my ancient DSLR's battery charger -- so I thought I'd snap a photo:

I'm very happy with how these turned out. As soon "traction on ice and snow" is no longer a criterion when I'm deciding on shoes in the morning, they're going to get a lot of play in my rotation.

My GMTO Dublin Longbanch boots have arrived and they look marvelous! And I don't have my phone to photograph them!

I love the specs on these - the Dublin leather is a beautiful rich color - the midsole and mini lug make the boot a bit classier than the Vibram sole. I can't believe the price for these especially considering the American Express $50 off deal! I'll post photos later tonight.

Special thanks to @mry8s for pulling this one together! Well done, sir!

Alright, GMTO Tan Dublin Long Branch boots (quick photos in artificial light)...

Beside my CXL Long Branch in dark brown.

I'm very pleased with these. I really like the more refined sole treatment.

I'm seriously regretting not getting in on this one. Those look fantastic!

Oh you guys are killing me! I haven't even been invoiced for final payment yet.

Looks like they nailed the specs on the sole. I'm very anxious to see them in person. The variation in the Dublin looks awesome!

Glad you are happy, Tues.

So, I'm not crazy about the color of the fat brown laces with the Tan Dublin. I'll save the red laces for Christmas.

Here are two possibilities from my collection. I normally prefer contrast between the shoe and the laces, but this time, I'm going to try the lighter laces for a while.

Here's a better shot of the sole treatment. Very nice!
