Make less money.Anyone have “creative way” to avoid underpayment of taxes? It certainly is a shocker to see high 5 figures in taxes owed still after the fact.
MFJ—37% federal marginal tax bracket. 99% of that income is W-2. 401k, HSA, etc. already maxed. And only standard deduction.
One way is just increasing withholding per paycheck. Separately, pay estimated taxes. IRS safe harbor rule of 1.1x prior year taxes owed can help with that calculation.
