You can tell it's fiction because the author uses "epic" as frequently as every 20 something does. Fun read, though.

Interesting... if you're good at skimming through the tiresome attempt at "writing."

The author's work would benefit very much from an economy of words, as the facts he has to say are far more interesting than his abilities as a writer.

Yeah that was the immediate red flag for me though I was skeptical to begin with. It's not a term that's used in the Northwest, though I've never been too close to that scene.

FWIW, I don't recall the O.P. ever claiming it was real. Lots of fiction is written in the first person. My only problem is that it's irritating that the narrator keeps refering to himself as the smartest man alive.

Uh oh, maybe we were a little premature in this thread:

http://www.businessinsider.com/anoth...kinger-2010-12

Cornell student Keri Blakinger was arrested on Saturday after police found her in possession of nearly six ounces of heroin, the Cornell Sun reported.
The 26-year-old's been charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree, a class A-II felony.
The market value of the drug has been estimated at $150,000.
That's the second Ivy League drug bust this month! Earlier in December, five Columbia kids and three "off-campus suppliers" were arrested for their alleged involvement in a drug ring that sold to on-campus frat houses.
Ithaca police wer called to the Hillside Inn because someone had reported a "suspicious person." They found Blakinger there and took her into custody.
Blakinger is supposed to graduate from the Ivy League university next year.

Excellent find, I've always assumed it was fake but perhaps there is more truth to it than I thought. I'm really surprised at the amount of "hardcore" drug usage at such "prestigious" universities; though I'm admittedly a bit of a naif.

there are certainly plenty of hardcore drug dealers at private universities. there just aren't hardcore drug dealers who blather about it on second-rate internet fiction forums. awesome profile pic tho

Wow very good story, did you write it yourself?
I didn't read it yet but I'm also a writer if you'd like to network (currently working on two stories).

I'm always surprised by how much drug usage some people *think* goes on at "prestigious" universities...while I never was in the frat crowd, I went through four years at one of these colleges without seeing a line of cocaine.
