I work in local government, "business" attire is still expected.

Dress shirt, chinos/ trousers, dress shoes is still required for male employees in the office or when representing Council.

Tailored jackets and ties are pretty rare (except from me), though still seen occasionally.

I'd imagine the APS is the same.

Wear what you want though, unless you look sloppy or have a particularly narcy manager, likely nobody will care.
Thanks however ACT Government employees in my experience dress upper middle bogan.

What are we talking about with upper middle bogan? Lots of puffer vests and polo shirts?

I have a friend in the APS who wears a suit and tie daily, might just be him though! Like I said, I definitely dress up more than what's required in Council.

Seems to be by Bespoke Factory. Half the "cut out the middleman" shops use them.

This is the factory's B2C shop

Ah, looks like I missed it.

Was there any good deals to be had?
i only found out about it fairly late, so there wasnt heaps of stuff left. a lot of tuxedos from caruso. the brioni stuff even at 60% off wasnt an impulse buy. there wasnt a lot of lardini left either which i might have been keen on.
the markdowns on some stuff was 80% so i imagine there were deals to be had

I love King Charles III in general but there is this one blue grey pinstripe suit he loves wearing which I flat out dislike.
Some of King Charles' outfits were on point for his visit. Rocking classic 3 button suits.

Hey guys, can anyone recommend somewhere for MTM in Sydney? MJ Bale was my go to, but the 2 guys looking after me have gone and the people left are jerking me around a little.

I had a quick look at old threads and this one was really useful. So far Luxius is the most promising and I'll be booking some time with them.

I've tried Oscar Hunt and have a suit from them but their block doesn't look great on me (the slope of the shoulder line and skirt). Suit Supply has been mostly a miss too as their more junior staff aren't all that experienced.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
