Thanks, man. 076 museum calf. When I picked it out of the many sample swabs, it looked ok. Now, in person and on a completed boot, it is quite the color.

is it crust? The only 076 I see on their config is VNA and it doesn’t look like this!

Last: Sailor vs Chiseled
Leather: Both are CRU608 but you can clearly see the variation due to patina and prob hand finishing.

Onto the next order!

No,
other shoemaker do it much better.
Purpose of norvegese is to make shoe more waterproof.
St Crispins norvegese are like many norvegese makers,
they cut corners and use wide stitches to secure out turned upper to midsole.
A really great shoemaker will use small stitches to secure out turned upper to minimize chances of water seeping in when stepping in puddles and during storm.

Look,
small stitches for upper to midsole (key area).
Ignore wider stitch for upper to insole because it not important.
+ the midsole is sewn to outsole by hand to allow more flexibility and molding to feet.
This method of construction below is far superior.
Not all norvegese equal.

True but at this point and this level of make, most people are choosing the construction for aesthetic purposes which is exacerbated by the use of large stitches. Not a chance those boots, with their modified dress shoe last, are going to be used to stand in wet fields for hours on end.

Frankly the Lattanzi loafers are even more of an oddity because wearing a loafer in wet weather is wholly counterintuitive.
