Hello Gents.

We are planning our fall cut of trousers and just looking for feedback moving forward. We are planning to add a new "contemporary" cut of trouser, which is slightly larger through the seat/thigh of the trouser for those with more athletic legs and found the "slim" a bit too snug.

As well, we are adding a split back waist, pleated waist curtain, 8 belt loops, Demi-Stitch Pockets.

Any feedback to help improve the trousers is greatly appreciated. :)

Cheers,
Rick

PM sent as the world doesn't need to know all my measurements. But in case anyone is interested, I am saying +1" to the rise, +0.5-1.0" to the thighs, keep it tapered from the knee to ankle.

Just wanted to share some fall developments. This is just one of the great fabrics that will be making its way into our OTR Suit/Trouser Program.

Has anyone here purchased a suit yet? I have a wedding on August 15th and I might want to give Rick a try. This would be MTM of course

This is one of the OCBD's we have in development. Just thought we'd give you guys a peek.

This one has a modern BD collar. Points are 3", compared to a traditional 3 3 /8" point. Spread is a bit wider as well at 4".

Why the changes? I like the higher collar and longer collar points.

I think the obvious suggestion here is to look at the Kamakura OCBDs for inspiration. Of everything I've tried in the BD domain, it both looks and feels the best. It maintains well over time also.

I assume there are perhaps hundreds here who would agree with the above.

Thanks for the suggestion. We've heard their name being kicked about for some time now and thought about looking into their shirts. Do you mind, what in particular that stands out about their shirts? Cut? Collar Roll? Fabric? All of the above?

Thanks!
Rick

The collar is the sticking point for most, I believe. The rest of the shirt is good to excellent, but the collar matches really well to a classic button down collar style which seems to have disappeared over time.

That is our feeling as well. We're tinkering with different techniques to achieve a great roll that is natural at the same time. Most OCBD achieve the roll from the button placement forcing a roll to occur. We are working to achieve the roll in a more natural manner. Of course a classic sized collar helps as the points are longer. A lot of modern OCBD's have too short of a point to fully achieve a really great collar.

Thanks for the input! We will def. be putting a long of focus on the collar.

Two things to me that are important for the perfect BD.

-A good roll
-Points long enough and spread wide enough so that it can still fit under a jacket.

Nothing bothers me more than a BD that has a nice roll but doesnt have the tips properly hidden under the lapels

I dont know if you are aware but a nice resource as far as collar go is the spreadsheet that has been done by people in the luxire thread. The barba, the mercer and the BD by Timo are all very nice.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
