I purchased 2 pair of trousers during the last special. I got them back from the Tailor the other day. It is difficult for me to compare the pants to others out there since I am just starting to build my wardrobe, but I am really happy with the quality for the price. I think I will come right back to Spier & Mackay the next time I want to purchase a few new pants.

As for the cut, the pants fit me really well and all I needed to do is get the Tailor to get the length for me. An earlier poster mentioned that the pants were a bit tight in the rear. I noticed this as well, but it was not an issue for me and I actually felt it gave me a good fit. I could see how the legs might be a little tight on some too.

Rick, do you know when you might have black dress pants again? Looks like most sizes are sold out.

The trouser program is going incredibly well for us. We are tweaking the fit for the next round, opening them up a bit through the seat and thigh, especially on the smaller sizes. We are also adding some better detailing, like pleated, curtain waistbands, split back waist, Demi-Stitched pockets. While keeping the price in line.
Black is slated for fall. We didn't run them for Spring/Summer. Fall release will be first week of Sept.

Best,
Rick

Do you ship outside the US and Canada ? Specifically, to India?

At the moment we do not. We are looking to opening up International delivery very soon. However, that said, we actually manufacture our shirts in India. We CAN ship custom shirts domestically in India if you are interested in those, but not the OTR as all the OTR stocks are here in Toronto.

Best Regards,
Rick Khanna

Just thought I would add my experience. I don't have pictures right now, just stumbled across this new thread.

I ordered 3 shirts about 8 months or so ago now, and they were all custom. They came with a problem with the collar (not what I ordered), but Spier was very very quick to fix the problem, and they were more than helpful. Overall, I was very pleased with their customer service, and how they dealt with me.

As for the shirts themselves, none of the fabrics I ordered are available now, but they are all very nice. They have gotten tons of wear since I bought them, and they wash really well, and have held up well also. I would not have hesitation recommending them to anyone looking to try a few shirts out, especially if you are located within Canada. In terms of fit, my first one wasn't great, and my subsequent two were much better, but not perfect. This, however, has nothing to do with them, just my measurements, which they followed well. Currently, the only other MTM shirt maker I have used is Solloso (currently have garments in production at Luxire, pending completion) , and I MUCH prefer Spier and Mackay.

Overall, happy with my experience with their custom shirts.

I"m thinking about using them for a MTM shirt in the near future. Can do any customization like how luxire does it? With the $25 fee for shipping from luxire I can't see myself buying too many more shirts

Honestly, I cannot say. I would wait to hear Spier speak on the matter. That being said, I doubt they would be able to do the level of customization that luxire offers. I can't think of anyone anywhere who would be able to do what luxire does. My current shirt being made from them is a hybrid between a noragi and a shirt.
With respect to Spier though, when I ordered my shirts, two of them I got made with a custom button down collar that wasn't offered on the site. I sent in a few pictures of what I wanted, and asked them to make something with a "nice big roll" and I am pretty pleased with how it turned out. It wasn't perfect, but it was certainly good (especially considering I gave them no specific measurements). The reason I have not ordered from Spier more recently is simply because I wanted to see if luxire could make this difficult shirt for me, and in the last little bit, when browsing the spier custom fabrics, nothing stood out to me. Luxire has more options. But, in terms of quality, spier is great. Also, its very competitively priced if you are Canadian.

Yes sir. Just make the notes in the "Notes"section of checkout. Our patterns are bespoke, from scratch, so we can pretty much accommodate any request. We also make our shirts in India and use many of the same fabric suppliers in addition to importing some of our own fabrics from Europe.

Glad you are happy! We brought in a new pattern master in the last 6 months who is absolutely incredible as well as overhauled our quality/inspection process. What we are producing now is a better product than what we produced even 6 months ago. Most dramatically altered is our collars. We implemented a few bespoke tricks that make the collar roll beautifully as well as stand up prominently.

Best,
Rick

Thanks. I don't see as much selection of fabrics compared to Luxire however it's great to have a Canadian option at such great prices

True..we just ran a sale over the past couple of weeks and got wiped out of a lot of stuff. Tell us what you are looking for and we'll go out and get it.

That said, we are revamping our custom shirt program and will be introducing a lot of new fabrics in the coming weeks. We prefer to keep a highly edited selection and build on that instead of offering hundreds of fabrics, of which only 20% are any good.

Ah gotcha. When you restock I'll give you a shout, I'll probably drive out to Mississauga from Markham as I'm not confident in my measurements.

Will keep an eye out. :)
