Nothing major, but probably the best shoes $200 can buy. Meermin classic line...been reading about some QC issues, not the case here.

Uncle,
After you comment on my shoes being too light colored for my suit, you flip the script and wear a very dark loafer with a light tan pant? What is your rationale?
Europrep,
I would guess it might have to do with the usual formality of darker trousers, in comparison to the more casual nature of lighter colored shoes being worn.
Plenty of people subscribe to the color contrast idea between pants and shoes, the shoes being the darker of the two. Maybe that might be another reason.
I personally subscribe to the above idea, but mainly for artistic reasons. The darker color pants/lighter colored shoes combo always looks top heavy to me (again from an art concept point of view). A darker base always looks more aestheticly pleasing to me, as it gives the outfit a more solid/weighted look.
On another note, it makes you wonder if people have personal reasons for their aesthetic choices, or if it's more due to what people refer to as groupthink?

Why square edged sole?
It's an Italian Norvegese spade style favoured by a few Italian makers like Bettanin and Venturi. I am going to have it rounded off.
jubeispiegel & uncle, I appreciate your thoughts. Here are today's pick, AS Ramsey. First wear:
33 degrees today here in London! Thought of argyles is too much!
