Today is officially office wide 'clean up' day. Even though I don't intend to do any heavy lifting I thought I should at least look prepared to do so. So I wore my oldest and most loved shoes.

These Sperrys have been my summer 'go to' shoe for somewhere between 25-30 years (not exactly sure). Yes, I realize that my shoes are older than many of you. These shoes have been everywhere and done everything. When new they went to summer Sunday lunch at the club with my parents (sport coat and trou) and as they aged they started going to the lake a lot. They've been to job sites round the world and always travel on summer holiday. Now they live by the front door all summer long and slip on as I dash for the door. Last summer they even went wading in a creek!

Love the slippers but I still cannot buy into wearing them out of the house. I have two pairs of slippers (one linen and one velvet) and I put them on as soon as I get home and off whenever I leave the house or go to sleep. Perhaps I'm too conservative in that thinking.
