Im rereading the book while watching the series, they actually made a good job. It helps that its a BBC production.

I remember a year or two ago reading about a furniture designer in Brooklyn who found an enormous stockpile of WWII era military fabric and started making home furnishings from it. I guess his crap went gangbusters.

Maybe you google him down and offer to pay a premium for some of his raws.

Yea, I assume that's who he was talking about, since Kenn made some big publicity rounds a few years ago.

I'll reach out to him, but I imagine a designer won't be too keen on someone taking his fabric and using it to make other things. Can't hurt to ask though.

Weird question, but does anyone know where I can score some vintage military tents -- or specifically, vintage military tent fabric -- with cool provenance? Besides scouring eBay?

Maybe @wormwood can provide some info?

I have 2 pairs of common projects and I somewhat regret spending 300$ on my black achilles.

The one thing I have learned is that they look good intiallly, but as time progresses, your shoes crease and they bend. Now they look horrible and the silhouette isn't as attractive when viewed on these fashion websites. Maybe it also depends on the shape of my foot.

I've not come to a realization that suede is a better material to avoid the ugly creasing that tends to bend a shoe upwards :|

Just forget about Achilles and go for the other styles.
Bballs are dope in all iterations, I like the suede tournament mids a lot too.

Just a tip for anyone who wants a series to watch, "Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell" is really quite something.

Where are you watching the episodes? It seems BBC only allows UK viewers to watch from their site.
