shirts w/o pockets = juvenile trend

shirts have had pockets since about 6,000 years ago and when today's young people grow up they'll realise that's how it ought to stay

pants w/o cargo pockets = for boys

swag = for boys

cargo pants (xtra points for shorts) = for real gentlemen.

i've seen people carry many things in cargo shorts and as soon as today's young people recognize this, there will only be cargo shorts

every time I go to a new shirtmaker for a first shirt I get the invariable "wouldn't you rather not have that pocket, you know today's young men prefer their shirts without..."

why not do away with the patch pockets on SCs as well, after all nobody actually carries anything in there!!!

Not sure what you mean, but again, pockets and other details help make shirts more casual. They're great on chambrays, madras, linen, and general casualwear type shirts. Debatable on OCBDs depending on your POV (I like pockets on OCBDs). I think they look terrible on finer poplins and twills though -- the kind of thing you'd wear with a suit.

Just depends on other details of the shirt and how you plan o wear it. If you're getting a semi-spread, poplin shirt with a French placket and French cuffs, and plan to only wear it with suits, a pocket ruins the "cleanliness" of the look.

Same logic for why you don't see pockets on formal dress shirts (e.g. ones you'd wear with a dinner suit). Even if they don't have that pleated front or bib.

Pissy that it got cold again because my winter clothes already packed away. I was walking around drunk downtown last night complaining about the cold and passed by people sitting outside under blankets and was feeling really bad for the homeless there. My friend who needs to talk to everyone he passes by was bugging them and it turns out they were camping out for adidas boosts x haven shop. Didnt even know there was a street wear shop here...

Dear anyone from Texas: I am seriously considering flying to Austin to buy cowboy boots. Where would I stay/what should I do?

...my second pair of non-fitting Lucchese boots arrived last week, and I packed them back up today. Now I figure I just need to go to THE SOURCE

Visible Pick Stitching on Lapels and Pockets

  • It’s a mark of quality and craftsmanship

  • I like it when it’s subtle

  • I don’t like visible stitching

  • Doesn’t matter to me
