That makes 3 of us that got denied. But like you Paul, I was after the UK8.5 as well. But got the order cancelled after it went through as paid. Got an additional discount so picked up my first pair of black boots (Islay) instead.

Had my mind set on those dark brown Conistons though. Oh well, at least I have consolation in you not getting them either Paul

Hahaha! That's good. I think you are still winning the boot contest, Stephen! I put a consolation order in with them for some Carlos Santos this morning.

When I looked last week, they had quite a few CS offerings available, that I looked hard at. But, I decided not to bite on any. At their prices I probably should have.

I watched the Harrogate in C&J store in Paris and after some searching (thank to Shoegazing blog) I found the New and Lingwood version of this stunning shoe in sale and decided to pull the trigger as my Christmas gift. The shoes arrived and I am in love with them. The quality is stunning, maybe my next "celebratory" shoes will be a pair of Coniston boots.

Anyone here have experience with C&J's roughout suede Chelsea boots? How do you take care of the "roughout" suede and can it be darkened with suede specific polish (if such a thing exists)?

Seriously considering one of these (green vs navy rough out suede) Chelsea 5s. Would either colour be difficult to wear?

I have the navy ones. In most light they don't appear anywhere near as blue as in that picture. They're more like grey.
I also have Conistons in green roughout suede. Conversely, they're lighter and more green than in that picture.
I have no problems wearing either but I have more of a DGAF attitude to those kinds of things.
One thing about the green Chelseas though is they bring to my mind elf boots so there's that.

I wouldn't mess around with trying to change the colors.
I've never done anything to care for any nubuck except brush off dirt and use a suede brush on scuffs.

Good point! Elf shoes...now Im not sure I like the green so much anymore! Navy may perhaps be safer.

I'm not normally that into double monks but I love those.

Almost like a shoe version of a Coniston really.

Is it this one on New and Lingwood's sale?

Is it definitely C&J Harrogates just rebadged?
