Hey guys,

it's not something I can afford, but I met a guy today who's able to do true bespoke tailoring in Toronto. As far as I know this doesn't otherwise exist in this city.

I had to go by a H*******ts, a legal robemaker, for a fitting for robes this morning. The guy who does the fitting and tailoring, who's 60ish and from India, totally geeked out on my Oxxford suit, and we had a long conversation about the detailing and so on. He wasn't familiar at all with the brand but said he hadn't seen work like this since he came to Canada, and seemed really excited to know it was still valued.

It turns out he trained at "Gieves and Company," as he called it, on Savile Row in the 70s. When he came to Canada, he was unable to get work as a tailor, and finally landed at H********ts, -- but occasionally he does suits, entirely handmade, on referrals.

Anyway, I can't afford a bespoke suit anytime soon, but I was really impressed to hear him waxing rhapsodic on buttonhole stitching and the best blend of hair in canvas interfacing, and I thought someone on here might be interested. PM me if you want his contact info.
