I'm all for affordable watches but the Parnis watches are just rip-offs and I can't support that. Seiko, Timex, Seagull and Citizen all make cheapies with mostly original designs.

Yeah, I'm not going to disagree with you. Whoever made the design of this Parnis, I really dig it.
For my next watch I'm probably going to go for an orient or Seiko (my first watch, that my grandfather bought me, was a seiko - unfortuntely the clasp broke while swimming in the ocean and it was lost), actually perhaps i'll ask for one for christmas!

That looks really great; can you tell us how loud it ticks? I had a Timex once that was just obnoxiously loud.
Also, a lume shot would be greatly appreciated.

I do not think they are noisy. Certainly not as loud as a normal office or public space.

After kicking myself all week for missing out on the Timex weekender in olive at Meijer.com for $24 shipped, the wife and I were at KMart this AM getting diapers for the daughter and I spotted this

all for sum of...$3.99 on clearance! LOL.  Cheapest watch I ever owned.

I have bought two of this exact watch at Walmart over the last few years. The chrome finish will wear off over time. Get more compliments on this cheapo watch than any other I own.

Is this the timex weekender olive green? It seems to have a white rather than cream face. I'm very new to watches but I am really liking this exact watch and strap.

I have also just ordered the Grenen black with rose tint, my first watch, for only $38 from $90. With 50% you add an additional 20% and free shipping coupon. Use XMASFREE and SECRETSANTA if anyone still wants a really reduced price Grenen. Also if anyone off the top of their head can tell me what size mm strap I should buy to replace the mesh strap it would help :nodding:

It is great and the price was right, but unfortunately it's too late as they stupidly discontinued it. Google "seiko blue spark" for the model # if you want to look for a used one.

Let's all write to Seiko to pick up the blue spark again. Btw, is it automatic or hand-wound?
