Always liked the quintessential art deco mystique of the original Cartier Tank evoking to the interwar years of the roaring twenties, but never found anything close to my Platonic ideal. The higher end horological pieces are either a bit too big, too complicated or that their prices and maintenance would be out of my reach, even felt there is something ever so slightly off about the Seiko Tanks (SWR049 & SWR053), until I randomly came across this Casio Tank (LTP-V007L-B1) a few days ago and really loved the homage with Casio's own take to the spirit of the Cartier but with a seconds hand, which at least to me displays both the workings of the quartz and the passing of our times.

Earlier seikos without a second hand or date look better than the current models. Would look better without the ‘quartz’ label or logo.

I've trended towards more minimalist watches over the past few years. Lately, I'm enjoying this one. I'm also into single pass nato straps (zulu?).

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
