I think they are the same and the difference is just lighting. If you look closely, the welt stitching on the darker pair is actually not tonal.
I did a bunch of digging and it seems like it’s the same color. One version has a darker brown welt stitch while the other has a natural color on the reverse part of the welt.
Edit: actually I don’t know anymore about the welt but I give up.

Does anyone know if there are two shade of cafe chambords? It seems like the pair with tonal welt stitching is a darker brown than the pair with constrasting welt stitching but both are sold as cafe
I'll chime in here that sometimes, when we bring a pair out of the box, they will vary tonally. Keep in mind that any leather will take dye differently and this might have done just that. Additionally, lighting I agree has played a factor here. Typically, they are a deep Cafe color.
Marron Fonce is the Paraboot beeswax shoe cream you should use on these.
FYI...we just had a restock on these.

Thanks! The pair on your site looks like it just has a reverse welt and not the full Norwegian welt like on some pairs. Is that just the stock photo?

How do the Bergeracs fit? I'm seeing it's either TTS or size half down.

I'm 9US in most things and not planning on wearing with thick socks

These always remind me of the nearly identical "Boy Scout Shoes" of the 50s-60s
