That may be true. Perhaps even less. However your statement wasn't that a $121k watch has no more practical value than a sun dial. It was that it has no practical value. Period. That is patently false.

I also find it easier to look at my wrist than to pull a phone out of my pocket.

by that logic why don't you just wear new balance tennis shoes to your own wedding?

i mean they're practical. they serve their purpose just as well as a pair of nice dress shoes.

don't **** on watches. i don't like uni-taskers for the most part myself and i don't own a watch currently but i would love to get a great watch (i've had my eye on a rolex submariner) one day. and i'm not really paying for the ability to tell time, i'm really paying for something that just looks great.

A mobile is not autonomous, a watch for all practical purposes is. But I have to agree with the sentiment that a lot of 'luxury' watches are plain ugly.

The word wristbands refer to the encircling stripes that are worn on the wrist. Bracelets came into fame & and as a fashion statement. It became very popular among Celebrities and youth and they started to wear. Bands were becoming familiar among people with many dissimilar fashion tastes. Rubber bracelets use a long-lasting material. It does not becomes shapeless or break that easily. It can be used for many years. These types of wristbands are always rounded. It has great feel and does not turn itchy.

No, I only wear a watch. I'd never wear a bracelet, it isn't my style.

That isn't at all what he's saying and I'm not sure you actually read Fuuma's post.

The point isn't to restrict yourself to things purely for function but that a watch and a bracelet serve the same function - adornment or as a status symbol.

Appraisal value and actual value (or price paid) are very different animals.
