Phoned Turnbull & Asser and Tom Ford @ Harrods today. T&A said its mostly discontinued exclusives with a few 'classic' patterns here and there, but there might be more in the future. Tom Ford told me that it's all gone bar "a few shirts, sweaters and going out jackets".

EGs are never very cheap.

Bought a grey chalk stripe suit at Ede and Ravenscroft at a decent discount but you never know if sales are good value or not, at least their extra pair of trousers helps.

I wonder what happens in EG now - what with the VAT increase. Will they put the prices up of the sale shoes to reflect the increase?

It appears most stores are absorbing the VAT increase on current stock. Alternatively they would have to add a
surcharge of 2.1 % onto the current prices.

The difficulty would be, new stock would includes the new VAT rate, while old stock would demand the surcharge.

Surely a recipe for confusion!

Did a bit of shopping today... sales still on at EG (not much left), Fosters & Sons, C&J, and Trickers (where Eric Clapton was buying a couple pair of new shoes).
