Keep Hands Looking Young - Driving Gloves

These are the driving gloves I use but only at the road course, autoX or while karting. I wore them a few times on long drives to break them in but got funny looks from people at stoplights.

I love the rubber pads on the new Tech-1ZX. Plus they are FIA 8856-2000 certified

I can't believe I missed this thread...something I actually know something about.

I just noticed the other day my hands are starting to age more than I'd like. I know for women especially it is really a tell tale sign of age. No amout of work on the face is going to hide the aging process to the hands. I don't get in that much sun, but veins do start to be more noticeable as time goes on.

As for driving gloves, well, I just think they're cool. I have several pairs (too ashamed to admit) and the biggest reason I don't wear them during the summer with the top down is imho they will make sure I get a ticket if I ever get pulled over (how do you talk your way out of a ticket when you are wearing driving gloves in 80 degree weather??). Saying that, I do wear them in the evening or night when the temperature drops below 60-65 and I put the top down. Also, the shifter is half steel/half leather, so in the winter they are almost a must. With modern steering wheels, you really don't "need" them. But when did necessity become that important? Does one need Tod's driving shoes when Minnetonkas will work just as well??

And if you don't think driving gloves are cool, then go watch the movie Grand Prix, and check your pulse if you still feel that way.

They are kind of cool assuming you're over a certain age and actually driving a cool sports car. If you are rocking them at age 20 in your Tercel, there might be an issue there.

I think the appropriateness may be directly related to the chest hair index (CHI) of the wearer.

I bought these and they work well. They're really light and they don't look half bad.

Cheap cars don`t block so well, and when you`re outside sunscreen does not do as good of a job as you may think.

My wife (who happens to be Asian) uses a lot of moisturizer and sunscreen. I am not sure exactly which soap product, but she uses a mild liquid hand soap. Sometimes she puts plenty of moisturizer on her hands and wears gloves while sleeping. Also, she wears gloves when walking outside, depending on the time of day.
