My tailor leaves gaps of loose stitching wide enough to fit my finger in on the ankle hem. See photo of unworn wool trousers with finger There inserted and unworn cotton trousers by waist lining. Rear inner waist of cotton trousers and linen trousers is loosely stitched the same. The ankle hem on my lin n trousers came undone after one gentle hand washing. They says this is loosely stitched on purpose:

And he explained to us that the seam that looks cheap in that part is because if it was tight, the inner lining of the pants would rise up, thus creating the swelling of the back pockets. He also told us that despite the fact that the stitching looks cheap, it does not pose a problem for taking care of the pants. Anyway, when the other pants are ready, we'll let you know to come and we'll talk at the Atelier. This weekend the staff is on vacation, so the pants will be ready on Monday. Thank you !
They said the loose stitching is so the stitches will come undone under tension instead of the fabric itself, but it's so loose that a handwash undoes it or a light tug.

However, the shoddy stitching of the label, and the fact that they forgot to put the inner ankle lining on two of the trousers, and that after fixing a suspender button they sewed one right next to the other unevenly spaced on the right compared to the left side, leads me to believe it's an excuse. They used to do good work, but lately...
Am I wrong? Is it supposed to be like this?
