I think the look up there might actually be a relatively old aesthetic. It feels vaguely Ralph-y. For me there is a novelty factor in that it's "new" to me.

Tailoring combined with military wear has a pretty rich history, and fatigues can be worn in loads of SW&D looks too. It also doesn't feel THAT far removed from chinos, despite being more interesting. Both have the military DNA in them.

M-65 Jackets are super commonplace, and fatigues feel like the forgotten, useful cousin.

I've seen a tonne of crappy misses from Ralph.

Some product shots are "Toss as much Ralph product onto one model to sell things".

Check out Maurice Walker's YouTube channel. He has a lot of that applique stuff and wears it well. Tons of small communities oriented around this look. It's just not the Cucinelli, Loro Piana e-Talian type of aesthetic that CM guys favor.

Yeah, I don't wear logos of any kind apart from athletic wear which seems inescapable. Some of that stuff is neat I will admit and folks do look good with it I guess.

Anyway, tomorrow is all day meetings and such so deploying Oxxford suit, Sartorio shirt, and C&J. Tie as yet undetermined...

Was fishing. Thought you were a Brit. After working with them for years I still sign off my emails and letters with "Cheers" instead of "Sincerely."

Army and RCMP sounds like rough business, especially mentally. Not for me!

I think that business casual is inherently incoherent.

Its practitioners are often holding on to their traditional “business” items - shiny twill shirts, dark trousers, and oxfords.

I think they would be better served by whole heartedly embracing casual menswear.

I think that Lenn Castillo provides a great example of the latter.
