I'd like to make some throw pillows for our Knoll sofa out of tweed jacketing fabric. Procuring the tweed is simple enough, but is there a place in NYC that can make pillows out of it for a reasonable price?

Otherwise, I could take up sewing and do it myself. Tweed throw pillows with hand-stitched lapped seams: what could be more iGent?

Hmm. And where do I get the inner pillow?

K-Mart should carry pillows.

I'm having a cowhide throw pillow made, and got the inner pillow from Scandia Down.

I think if i saw you on a couch with tweed pillows i would consider it too matchy matchy, unless you were wearing your flannel suit.

Haha. My wife nixed the grey wool-cashmere upholstery we were considering when she realized I'd blend in with it chameleon-like in my flannel suit or grey trousers.

Maybe we'll do one tweed pillow on each side, and one in flannel or moleskin.

These pillows arent going to have a window pane pattern are they?

One of each will probably look great.

Are you going to have Horn buttons on the back of them?

Windowpane, yes. Horn buttons? Now, that's an idea.

Make sure it's brown tweed then.
