This is the second suit I ever got. I am glad it still fits 8 years later. Fabric is dark blue, not black.

Today's OOTD. After yesterday's floral Easter exuberance, I opted for something plain. The blazer and shirt have been in my rotation for over a decade; the khakis, on the other hand are new. Does the fuller cut of the khakis work with the slimmer cut of the blazer?

To me, the pants look dated. But the full cut I hear is coming back (along with a higher waist)? So confusing. I have plenty of full cut BB chinos and have been acquiring the trimmer Clark fit, lately. You said your chinos are new. What is the fit? Thanks.

I think this look suits you very well, of course the Khakis are wide like the 1950s standard-issue US Army ones. So yes it is a look a bit dated/retro, but i think it is done in full knowledge ? Looks very Ivy to me, but i am not an expert, the thing is that @Roycru always go for the fuller cut, while younger Ivy/Trad Stylers like @Caustic Man seem to prefer a slimmer cut, a bit more contemporary.

@tcbinnc @Clouseau @themanfromLisbon Thank y'all for your critiques. After years of slim-fit everything, I was trying to change my standard silhouette. I've had the cuffs tailored on these khakis twice, and I wear them a little above the waist, so I don't think the length is the problem. Perhaps it's because Brooks Brothers cuts to a fuller model? I'm trying to find ways to move more in a trad or vintage direction.

Ok, that’s an option. But I still think that you don’t need to use a too slim cut, just a little tighter. Remember that if your option would be too large trousers, you will look fatter than you really are, while a good “middle way” cut will make you more elegant.
My thought is that the rest of your look is elegant and bold, so the trousers should follow. More, remember that this kind of trousers get more wrinkles the larger the trousers are.
