Hi Eva,

I have been having a hard time getting responses the last few months and thought I would try here.

My order number 49141 was not fully fulfilled on 2/22 as there was 1 shirt that the fabric that was out of stock. You said that the last shirt would be expedited with fabric V67NTP (which I have no idea is in stock anymore) and the new measurements in our emails (Large with 16.25 neck and +1 sleeve length and +1 body length).

Since then I haven't been able to get any response on the status of this order until 5/25 where you indicated that this order was already sent on 2/22. I have tried to get ahold of you both through conversations here and through email but with no response since that 5/25 reply. Can you please acknowledge that there is still 1 pending shirt for order 49141 and give me a status on that shirt?

Also with the news of Gitman closing its doors, will that impact my order 48832?

I feel like I'm kind of running out of options as far as getting any kind of real response from you and it is very frustrating

here’s the linen. I’ll have this in our newsletter tomorrow morning

First off, I love the S/S blues you all have available in both silk and linen. Between the two, which fabric wears lighter in a warm climate?

My other main question though is if/when you'll have mainline shashikos (vs. custom orders) in S/S blues again? I'm still kicking myself for not taking advantage of the sapphire Doyle you had a couple of seasons back.

Saw the SF-email that Brooks Brothers was entering bankruptcy, and I believe the thread mentioned potential rammifications for Southwick...?

@Epaulet Are there going to be wool doyles offered this year? I'm just curious if they'll be available for Autumn or if we should expect them more for Winter. Thank you.

Hey there...my apologies for the late response, and thanks for posting. From our side:

1) Your shirt should be working through the factory right now. I'm not trying to make excuses, but my East Coast factories are messy at the moment. Hertling is insanely backed up. Southwick is not really communicating, but is shipping out some orders. Individualized is working, but working slowly. And the orders that I'm getting now were placed well in advance of the 10 week pandemic shutdown. I have every expectation that we're going to get that outstanding shirt. And if we don't, you have my word that we'll make you whole on it. I just can't directly control things too much, and getting my backorders is a bit of a waiting game for right now. The status that they tell me is that it's "in work," but I don't have a projected ship date as of yet.

2) Gitman Brothers actually shipped my Ends for Friends shirts out yesterday. I'm getting 15 out of the 17 that we ordered, and I'm honestly not sure which ones are missing. I'll have to email those customers after the box arrives next week and I'm able to take inventory on it.

I'm really sorry. I absolutely get your frustration as a customer, and I feel the same as their client. But these factories are still understaffed and dealing with a lot of absenteeism. A lot of parents work at these places, and all of us are facing difficulties with childcare, so it's likely to be like this for the remainder of the Summer. Which is why I'm stressing most of my preorder work here in Los Angeles where I can be personally involved. I'm confident that it's goig to get better soon though!

Will the natural sashiko rivet/Wilhelms match back to my Sinclair pretty much?

Oh yes it should totally match it. We'll use the same exact wash technique as before. The Natty Suit is so boss!

Thanks! I'd definitely say that linen wears better on a super hot day, but the silk does great as well. If you're thinking between the two, I'd say to go with the one you find more visually appealing. The silk has some sheen and heft to it, the linen is matte and airy.

So freaking good! And I just ordered one of those masks for myself!

Saw the SF-email that Brooks Brothers was entering bankruptcy, and I believe the thread mentioned potential rammifications for Southwick...?

Man... I tell you, it's driving me a little bit crazy. I'm asking for updates and not getting any. But also about 6 customers received their long-awaited backorders last week. I'm honestly not sure what's being finished and what's not right now, but they're clearly working on things as we speak. 2020 is definitely the strangest freaking year that I've ever lived through.

Oh man, you bet. Big time. I have more of that Woolrich Donegal tweed, so expect another round of that to happen pretty soon so that we can deliver in September. And I've got lots of other things up my sleeve!

@Epaulet DId I hear in a video not too long long ago that you might do olive sashiko suits (sinclair + rivet) ? because if so I'm down.

Absolutely. I'm definitely going to do Olive & Chestnut Sashiko suits for the Fall. With matching tote bags too! Other suggestions are welcome!

Sheesh, could totally do an olive sashiko kamigata....*cough with a ton of pockets, going to try to live out that dream cough*

Haha I gotcha

Three quick bits of content and then I'll shut up for while about Silk Matka and Linen. Orders close tonight and you can click here if you want to pick something up. This is hands down some of the coolest fabrics that we've ever offered. It's going to be one for the history books!

1) I made a fun music video...

2) Look at how freaking boss the Indigo Silk Matka is....

Eva,

Measuring up my sashiko doyle and the measurements are a bit off from the chart, sorta figured they would be as I wash and hot dry without thought. But, got my eyes set on the tangerine matka doyle. Any chance I can order one and figure out sizing via email or insta tomorrow?

@Epaulet is it still (ever?) possible to order a natural sashiko sinclair with additional length?

For you guys, I can do it. I’ll make an item and put it online later tonight. I have that cloth so don’t worry about the deadline tonight

Really glad to hear that, I got the green plaid harris tweed you did a couple of years back, and it's one of my favourite pieces, I think I've yet to go out, and not be complimented on it. I'm really looking to get two more this year of different colours (hopefully brown!).

One thing I'm curious about, I ordered a 38, and it fits well, if a little big (closer to a 40), I know for your custom projects, you do 37s, have you ever thought of selling a cheap cotton version of a doyle for customers to test a fit? I'm in Canada, and it is just hell dealing with customs after returning an item. I wanted to get more into your custom projects, but being unsure whether a 36 or 37 would be the way to go is discouraging.
