Pretty happy with my other purchases too, though next time I will ask for lighter lining - I had no idea their standard lining was so bulky. It's not of bad quality - quite the opposite, but I prefer something softer, like what E. Marinella uses.

That's interesting... What would you go for next time? a 3-fold unlined? or a 4/5/6/7-fold? Because the unlined ties I have are a little flimsy unless they're 6/7-fold. However, with Cappelli that pretty much doubles the price (€140).

An overhaul of his webstore would surely boost his sales, but maybe he isn't really interested.. Better pictures and at least a mention of the ties' colours would be a good start. Then again, that might mean less choices and higher prices for those of us brave enough to go by the current photographs...

I've spoken with him about this and I don't think it will happen anytime soon. Patrizio is definitely more artisan - less e-commerce retailer - and overwhelmed by the prospect of renovating his entire web-store and pictures. The amount of ties he stocks are part of the concern and I'm not sure if he's interested in cutting down his selection (or if a potential increase in business would be manageable). These are just my speculations from talking with him.

When you think about it, he's only been online for about a year and the level of customer service and consistent quality is incredible.

As for lining, I think the upgrade to "unlined" is worth it - especially for wools and linens.

After seeing all the great ties everyone's been getting from Cappelli I had to give it a try. I found the whole process to be great, website is very good, and order only took 2 weeks from order date to when I received the ties.

All 3 are 7 fold Unlined. I'm incredibly pleased with the way they all turned out. Silk is very lightweight.

It's very likely they were made by the same company. Patrizio was just starting to offer them last fall. He told me they're basically made on a machine that makes socks.
