Here's the room with the sofas added:
Too much sofa--why pair two of them? And why those two in particular? Everything looks too random. Rug is still too dark. All colors other than the ivory sofa are too similarly dark and saturated. Uncomfortable to look at. The lounge chair makes more sense as it's oriented in the second picture, but should be moved a little further off the rug. Too little overlap--makes it look like an accident it isn't entirely on the rug. Also, you might as well move the rug back toward the ivory sofa so that its front legs are over it. Right now, it's as if that sofa is floating in the middle of nowhere. That would also make the table look more centered on the rug. Ideally, I'd ditch the dark sofa and the rug. If you want something neutral that is child-friendly, a mottled grey rug would be nice.

Furo, I think the room is very crowded now.

Humor me, if you will, remove the white sofa and dark rug. Bring in the other chair and put them facing the dark sofa. Change the direction of the coffee table 90 degrees. Pull the dark sofa away from the wall.

I also think the sofa is too dark, but i like the styling better than the white sofa.

Then take a non-saturated picture.

I'm a fan of the two matching chair + 1 sofa formula. Having two different sofas in one room just seems odd. Like two alphas in the same room.

The earlier shots probably make the sofa appear a bit darker than it actually is...

The two chairs plus one couch sounds ideal (especially with such lovely chairs).

Is there a TV hiding on that wall that we can't see to the right of the photo? That's the only reason I can see why you would want that extra couch facing that way.

Yes there's a TV there. I do like the two chairs + one sofa idea. Right now the problem is that the other room the 2nd sofa would go in is more of a playroom (carpeted, baby toys, etc). The added benefit of leaving the sofa where it is in the short term is that when family is over for Thanksgiving and Christmas, we can all comfortably share one space without having to drag in extra chairs.

I can't wait for the videos of Foo's dinner guests dragging around his Chair Ones. He may need a gin pole rigged up in the middle of his table.
